KC with MSU and UCLA in it had 4,280 in the arena

Lexington with Baylor and local Louisville had 5,715 in the 19,000 seat Rupp arena.

The attendance should be better today in Albany and Spokane with UConn and Oregon as the #1 seeds.
That said, last night and tomorrow’s attendance was and will be disappointing.

I know Debbie Antonelli is advocating for 1 Sweet 16 site but how about 2 Sweet 16 sites for the two sides of the bracket so 8 teams get a decent Tix allocation.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, expecting a different outcome. Hey NCAA, try something different to grow the game...

Round 1 was up 12% from last year
Round 2 was up 5% from last year
Rnd3, Day 1 was up 50% from last year

Sadly, you are correct as Lex with ND there last year had 2,527 only, Stockton with SC had 3,134 Ok City only had 3,128 and Albany still only had 8,978 so this year with stronger regional teams of Louisville, Oregon and Duke/Buff in Albany should boost attendance

You cited the round 4 numbers, not round 3.

Those were the averages...still your point that this year is up is valid, just the neutral court aspect for sweet 16is not great.

I wanted to give numbers as your 50% number needed to be qualified due to the pathetic numbers last year.

No those were the round 4 numbers.

Round 3 = 3499, 3148, 8839, 4500 last year (Okc/Lex/Bp/Stk)
Round 4 = 3128, 2527, 8978, 3134

VG- the point is regional attendance IS NOT GREAT. What can be done to improve it as far too many coaches and fans complain about where they get sent and that their fans can’t go which is hogwash as tickets ARE AVAILABLE and locations can only be in 4 spots some not everyone can be local. Stop being so pedantic.

If you’re gonna cite stats to prove a point, use the right stats.

I am hopeful attendance will be up for us in Lexington on Sunday. Our scheduled 9:30 pm tip really affected a lot of people attending. I heard a lot of our older population and families with young kids state they could not make such a late tip, and drive home. As it was, I pulled in my driveway last night at 1:07 am. I feel like we have really gotten shafted with game times.
Friday, Noon tip on a work day- 1st round
Sunday, noon tip- 2nd round
Friday, 9:30 p.m. tip- 3rd round (actually tipped at 9:52 p.m.)
Sunday, Noon tip-4th round

Honestly, tip on Sunday is problematic for church-going folks. Most of us will leave home around 10-10:15 a.m. for our next round. I am grateful we are close to home and can get to the games with out overnight costs. But, ESPN did us no favors with game times.

You have and so have the Gamecocks - 9pm on Sunday night and 11:30am today. I don't typically even get up that early on weekends.

It's well known, VG, that 72% of people who use statistics make them up on the spot.

9 AM PST time. That's not great for Oregon St. either. Can't understand that tip time, especially because there is a huge gap until the second game of the day. Why not back to back w/ a later start for the first game?

They're trying to avoid competing with the Mens games which are scheduled to run 2 to 7 tmow.
