Almost a positive article. At least he stated the obvious that others did not in that why would they say they want to leave. We all know that we will be somewhere in 5 years other then the AAC.

another healthy dose of "shut up and take it!" from our friends at the world wide leader. I think Andy is a pretty good guy/writer and is usually overly fair on the huskies, but he is not suited for these ventures into conference realignment analyses.

Anyone read the comments? Xavier fans are obnoxious and full of themselves, much like Cuse fans. X fans boast that they went to 4 sweet 16s in 16 years. Imagine that.

If KO continues to draw solid recruits;UCONN wins more than its share of league and non-league games; and UCONN makes serious runs in both the conference tournament(including winning championships) and the Dance(including getting to the FF and, maybe, grabbing our fourth NC) over the next 3-5 years, all of which, imo, are reasonable expectations, the nonsense about what conference we play in will disappear. I'm sure some of you will think these are all BIG ifs; but I have a ton of faith in both the historic reputation of the program and in the leadership, coaching ability and recruiting strength of KO.

In fact, if there is pressure anywhere in terms of any possible movement out of the AAC to a so-called stronger conference, it is on our (mediocre at best) football program. I am not even a casual football fan; but all of this conference jumping is driven by the sport and related TV dollars so everybody says. I am looking forward to the hoops season and all of the new rivalries to be cultivated. Football can do whatever it's going to do. The hoops is going to be better and more exciting than anybody expected; and the Huskies are going to continue their drive back into the national spotlight. I just hope that somewhere along the way we get to kick the crap out of Puke at least once. ;)

GO HUSKIES!!!

Cronin makes a very good point about Cincy. They were rarely if ever in Maui, Atlantis, Pre season Nit, Jimmy V etc. because only one conf team per event. Uconn, Ville, Cuse, Gt, ND, and Nova were all more attractive and Cincy rarely got invited. Now it will be UCONN, Memphis, Cincy and Temple who will be getting all the invites. Usually 8 teams one from 8 eight different conf.

I think it's a bit of a stretch for Cronin to proclaim his squad as one of the "marquee" teams in the league once Louisville leaves. They haven't come close to accomplishing what Memphis has much less UConn. They are above most of the rabble in the conference but UConn and to somewhat lesser extent Memphis are the marquee teams.
