Notre Dame is hemorrhaging players! After the shocking announcement by Olivia Miles that she is leaving, comes the news that their prized 6’5” post has announced her departure as well! She is joined by Emma Risch, a 20th ranked three point specialist. Could Geno be interested? She (Koval) was heavily recruited by UConn before announcing her choice of ND. Notre Dame is down to 4-6 players, some of which are rehabbing injuries.

doubt there is mutual interest.......

Based on the relative youth of the post position (Jana, Ice and incoming Frosh Gandy), I would think Geno would want some veteran leadership and production for the position. If he were even looking to add.

With regard to Koval, I concur with your response. She just is not a good fit for the team at this point in time. I believe Geno has accepted transfers to UConn who he originally recruited but decided to go elsewhere. I think Brittany Hunter and Sarah Northway returned to where they belonged.

In addition to what I believe was a lack of interest as a recruit, Geno would likely be looking for a more mobile and athletic two way post to supplement his current roster......

I really do not want anyone from Notre Dame to be honest with you. Koval may have an upside but I do not want her coming to UCONN to mean that we do not get that Olivia V. Also I have seen people talk about Miles... please pass on that one as well. She is not UCONN material. Watching her flex her muscles and shimmy... her attitude is not a good fit for our program....

IMHO, Williams will be for the "gap" year in 25-26, provide some veteran stability while Jana and Gandy get more experience, then hopefully we get OV in 2026. Not sure UConn would want another somewhat inexperienced post player.

Yep exactly, but to be fair, I think Koval was a little better than Jana this year but not enough to risk getting OV.

Agree I think she will opt for a warmer climate. I see her at either duke, north Carolina, or South Carolina.

She'd do very well at these two places as a high-level role player.

If she's looking for a chance to develop into a possible star (first team All-Conference and potential AA), Virginia Tech would be a great place to achieve that. Rose Micheaux just had a solid senior season with Megan Duffy's staff after looking completely lost during the Kenny Brooks days. Virginia Tech is one of a few ACC schools that has an actual former All-ACC post player (Jen Hoover) on staff who can develop bigs. It's a very long shot because Kate can command attention from much bigger programs (e.g., LSU, Southern Cal, Maryland, etc.), but sometimes the fit/culture is what's most important.

hops off soapbox

LSU or NC St. Both coaches love having and using big body post players.

I somewhat agree with you. But, I know Koval, Has some ties with in the program. New York/East coast Exodus (Caroline Ducharme) AAU program.
I know Geno went and got Dorka to give us two legit post players. I could see him taking a stab at Koval. Pends on how he feels about Ice and Patterson.

players transfer for a lot of reasons
I think it’s also possible that hidalgos
social media statement re the gay community
might not have endeared her with her
teammates

What comments are you referring to?

you should also be able to find Muffet McGraw’s comics, which were pretty interesting to say the least

I have seen Paige flex and shimmy granted Miles probably does it more but at UConn she would dial back that type of action. If it’s not the big from Wisconsin, then I would take Miles in a heartbeat. I believe she has something to prove. I agree that Koval is not right at this time mobility is an issue and hopefully we get OV to UConn
