Karaban's Opus | The Boneyard

Karaban's Opus

Had to record the game. Will watch Sunday AM

While on the road driving, could not get game on radio. Sounded like we were down 7 in second half. Was nervous.

Forever immortalized on 2/28/2026. Final time playing on a Husky homecourt.
Like acing your final exam on your final class.
He witnessed a life time of change, major accomplishments and events in a few short years as a Husky.

He showed up pre- NIL, weathered two post season "decisions" (one of them his own), was the reason for Hurley coming back, two Nattys, advent of NIL, multiple records, jersey in the rafters...

His story is one of the most unique in college bball history, forget UConn history. His time here could fill a 1,000 page novel- which he is probably smart enough to write himself.

Hands down my favorite Husky ever

The third foul on Mullins was a joke.
Didn’t see anything on TV. Were you there? There was a big call that went our way with about 50 seconds to go. Solo drive to the basket and defender was called for a foul. On the replay it was clear there was no contact. Refs aren’t perfect. Today they let them play and were very consistent. Just what you want if you play or coach

We had 2 fouls deep into the second half, so much so that we were able to give fouls at the end of the game (when's the last time we were able to do that?!)

Refs were not a problem. Also, Braylon is averaging 3.9 fouls per game over his last 7 games. He needs to clean that up... Way too many stupid fouls.

We can played ugly vs some god awful officiating and that turncoat “half-in” husky Donny Marshall ( you broke my heart Donny) but that speech right there binds this team together. FF bound.

They shouldn't have Donny doing UConn games. He tries so hard to prove he's not biased, that he's biased

I mean if you listen to Hurley, the moment AK arrived the program changed. Up until then, Dan Hurley had brought us back to being respectable and were trending, but we still were a back-to-back first round loss team. While I don’t think Hurley was on the “hot seat” or any of that BS, there still were questions if we could get to that next level. The 22 off season saw us lose three or four starters (Cole, Whaley, Martin, Polley) and other guys who we thought would matter in Akok, Diggins, Floyd, and Gaffney. We basically had three returning players, AK and DC, and the transfers. It looked a little bleak around here.

The stock that Hurley puts into AK changing the vibe and culture here is incredible. It makes clear sense why Hurley trusts him so much and why Hurley would be so emotional. And how sweet watching AK show out in his last home game. One of the most important players in UConn history.

My guess is in HS he was so much more athletic than others he could slap at the ball without fouling. Not so at this level

Yes he fouls but he also turns the other team over, with tips, deflections and his elite anticipation. He has to understand now that he needs to stay on the floor and defend appropriately.

Yup. I still remember Cam chastising DC about picking up a foul going for a block. It’s only 2 pts…it doesn’t matter but you sitting for 15 min does was how I remember it. Maybe cam need to call Bray
