Gabby with a double - double in the first half: 14 points and 11 boards. Amazing!!!!!!

The Gabulator is playing with a vicious passion.
How do you ever decide to take her off the court? She's phenomenal. Honestly, she's played every bit as good as Stewie and Moriah this year (to my untrained eye).

.-.
UConn not handling the box zone well at all. K-State trapping low-post players who get the ball, begging UConn to shoot from distance otherwise.

Geno at half: defense has been great, haven't shot well from the perimeter. Hard to get into a rhythm when you don't play a lot. Gabby is so explosive, defensively, offensively, she's just special and tonight she's showing it.

Lou is 0-3 from the arc, but hit a nice 1-dribble pull-up just inside the arc.

I know that its early and unfair to compare Samuelson to Mosqueda Lewis but she is not even in the same ball park.

Gabby is relentless on the boards. She's developing into a rebound machine with her leaping ability.

Geno more content at the half than I would've guessed.
That's because he's mellowing with age. There's a lot less "Geno before eating a snickers" these days compared to just 5 years ago.

Trying to pass the ball over Gabby is like trying to pass it over Maya. Gabby is longer and quicker than you think. And she gets up really high, really fast.

I love that: She (Kia) reminds me of Maya. He may be talking about the 5th best player on the team. Yikes!

Geno at halftime interview:
"Our defense has been great." "I thought overall we did really well"

Yeah. He's disgusted.

Oooh, burn. Course, I was commenting based on his reactions and yelling at assistants on the bench at the time. Good thing you waited until minutes later to hear his comments and correct me!

Happy to see Megan Deines getting some good playing time on her new squad. Her minutes really took a hit at Louisville last year, but she's a great passer and has a nice three-point stroke.

Gabby is "special". She is amazing. She is...wow. Too bad she will not get the national recognition of first team All America simply because UConn already has met the "quota" for how many players can be on the team.
