Kansas Scouting Report

I’m not sure we have a Peterson stopper if he plays. Silas would get the assignment, but I wonder if we just throw Stewart on him for some size and hope DP isn’t healthy enough to just blow by him. Ross could be a good matchup too
Thought Stew could be fine against AJ from a strength standpoint on post ups. With DP being more of a quick guard I think this is the matchup for Ross.

Hope the ref doesn’t hit him with any ticky tack fouls and lets him play.

Don’t have too much faith in the second part of your post, but yeah Ross feels like the best defender against him

I've read that DP doesn't have explosive speed or agility, merely decent, so maybe Stewie could stay in front of him and body him up. But if not, Ross would be an upgrade in speed.

Guys, we didn't beat Kansas in 2023 because Cam was playing on one leg and Castle was out. Solo was forced to play 29 minutes that game. A healthy UConn and we win that game easily.
Clingan also had a foot injury in that game. If I remember correctly, Kansas shot well above average for their 3s that game as well. I was there, great environment and most KU fans knew they saw a buzzsaw in UCONN if healthy

Top Dogs also has a preview. Nothing earth shattering..talks about matchups and health of all involved

.-.
100%. We are doing a little less of having our "5" at the three-point line, holding the ball as we run our motion that we did constantly last year, but we still have that as part of our sets. If Kansas drops their 5 and uses him as a pure rim-protector (which is his strength), it can absolutely screw up the flow of our offense. If that's the case, Reed or especially Reibe has to show they can take and hit a perimeter jumper.
Illinois played drop coverage against us and we lit up mid range shooting…I don’t think Kansas will do that and focus on Ball and Mullins as we can run flair cuts with both and either get a good luck, a favorable matchup or a Reed dunk. All kinds of possible outcomes with 3 shooters out and AK and Reed (hope he plays) down low
