That is total BS! Who decided that?

Should the selection start with the reigning national champs?

The Kansas basketball team was selected by the United States International University Sports Federation (US-IUSF) to represent the United States in the World University Games. Kansas was selected as the team to represent the U.S. from the schools that expressed interest.

My position is... who cares... I didn't even know this existed before you made this topic.

I read on another board that the last school to represent the US was Northern Iowa. You should care about this as much as you care about PC playing exhibitions in Europe this summer.

Oh ok so there was a precedent to this. I just thought something like this can be used as a way to get further exposure. Representing USA is always a big thing and this particular event may not rank as important to people in the US but it does turn heads in other parts of the world. It can only help especially for a university that likes to look beyond the US.

They'll probably get upset by a mid-major from China.

Wow if we fans keep this up (jealousy, envy, always feeling disrespected/ignored, etc.), we will forever feel less than elite.

Kansas is an American college selected to represent the USA. I will cheer for them as I do for my country. So what if UConn wasn't selected? I have to believe Self would certainly trade this honor for Ollie's ring.

Its okay guys.
