Hate to be the bearer of bad tidings.

Sad but not surprised. The silver lining? We have a bunch of players who will disappear in June for three weeks during Eurobasket. I'm very hopeful Chen can get picked up on a few 7-day contracts and see some playing time with the Valks then. She was definitely a fan favorite even in her brief time in Valhalla. It was always going to be an uphill battle for Kaitlyn to make the final roster, but I was hopeful. I have no doubt that Kaitlyn will do great things in her life after basketball, and she will forever be a member of a UConn national championship team.
I have been speculating on that possibility.Sad but not surprised. The silver lining? We have a bunch of players who will disappear in June for three weeks during Eurobasket. I'm very hopeful Chen can get picked up on a few 7-day contracts and see some playing time with the Valks then.
In the meantime, Kaitlyn can begin her job search for whichever Fortune 100 companies she sets her sights on. (How many college job seekers can list Princeton, Honors Student and NATIONAL CHAMPION on their resume?)Sad but not surprised. The silver lining? I also wasn't terribly surprised, but when the Valks featured her so prominently on their social media and had her throw out the first pitch at a Giants' game and making other appearances in the Bay Area, and her jersey was second only to Paige's in sales among WNBA rookies, I convinced myself there was a chance.Sad but not surprised. Not to nitpick, however Chen's parents are Taiwanese American immigrants, so not sure she'd go to China, opposed to any of the other countries with women's leagues.Well Valkyries just lost one fan ...
And Kaitlyn can go to China and get much higher salary than in USA.
No, not at all.Not to nitpick, however Chen's parents are Taiwanese American immigrants, so not sure she'd go to China, opposed to any of the other countries with women's leagues.
24 new roster spots open up next season. might be worthwhile to hang around 1 more year
There were half million Taiwanese living in Shanghai alone prior to the Covid epidemic. I was surprised that this comment got 7 likes .Not to nitpick, however Chen's parents are Taiwanese American immigrants, so not sure she'd go to China, opposed to any of the other countries with women's leagues.
During my career I must have read several hundred resumes. That would have caught my eyeIn the meantime, Kaitlyn can begin her job search for whichever Fortune 100 companies she sets her sights on. Yes the increase in jobs available vs. the number now could be a huge change. Adding an extra roster spot per team is roughly equivalent to adding another expansion team, and if they raised it by two that would be like adding four new teams next year.Maybe even more. The roster size could be expanded in the new CBA. There is some interest in 13, maybe 14.
