Wonder if it had anything with her being back at Uconn last fall and working out.

She has certainly had really good results playing in Europe in perhaps a mid level national league.

Wow! You have creds with me Wbbfan1, but source is the Lynx?

Along with memories of all the great players to wear the UConn uniform I also have memories of players that could have been, if not great, better than what they were. Mclaren was one of those.

Anyone know what she's been up to all these years? And on former players, has our former Florida Gulf Coast coach Husky resurfaced at another program?

She's been playing in Greece first and now Turkey more recently - I think she has been playing non-stop since she graduated, just never got much look in from the WNBA.

just like Barbara Turner who makes a living overseas

Kaili had some of the best court vision of any UConn player in the Geno era. She could make the no-look-over-the-shoulder back-cut pass like nobody's business. She was solid from 15' + as well. I certainly hope she makes the roster.

Last I heard Mel was working in a non-basketball company...maybe something heavily into computers?
I hope she is keeping the hoop-door open down the road but more than that I hope she is happy.
Still in Florida, I think. She was in Indy for the final four and was in that great picture on the floor after the championship game....
looking great btw.

I agree, she was really a top-notch passer.

She could thread the needle on the hi-lo pass from the top of the key as well, with perfect timing and touch - just amazingly good touch and vision

She frequently tossed passes with side spin to use english to manipulate the ball.

She has the same kind of upper body strength that Osahor has with not a lot of involvement from her lower body in her shots - she didn't shoot the three and had a softer shot, but her passes were 'smoking'. She had similar issues with getting up and down the court.

My favorite story was sometime during senior year on the 'cross country' run she was finally keeping up (or teammates were holding back) and they got to one section where I they did a loop up around the water towers or something - Kaili was amazed and asked if this was the standard course, because she had never done it before - she had always just cut across to where they ended up as they returned down the hill. She hadn't been meaning to cheat for 3.5 years, she just never knew the correct course.

That's a great story - she said she was always so far behind that she didn't see which way the rest of them were going!

I remember that story. Think it was a hill they ran that she had skipped all those other years. :p

Kaili, also, had foot problems while at UCONN. She had surgery after graduating and it helped her to run pain free something she reportedly hadn't done in quite awhile.
