Kadary Richmond to transfer portal

They are not done
Yeah but I mean who’s left for bigs that would be an impressive get? Every top 30ish center except Osobor is off the board and I don’t think he’s going there. All the PFs who are left are tweeners

If you’re a Johnnies fan, you’re praying this is true…because their overall portal activity so far has been pretty disappointing
Really? I don’t know. Besides missing out on Cliff/Omier at the 5, I think they’ve filled out the roster nicely. Their length on the wing is impressive and will allow them to be extremely versatile.

1: Kadary, Wilcher
2: Deivon Smith, Jaiden Glover
3: Aaron Scott, Brady Dunlop
4: RJ Luis
5: Zuby Ejiofor, Vincent Iwuchukwu

I think their ceiling is contingent on the development of their 4 returning pieces - Wilcher, Dunlop, Luis, & Ejiofor.

They need more frontcourt depth and I wouldn’t be surprised to see them add another perimeter shooter, too. But I do like their roster on paper a lot as of now.

I think the character concerns are overstated. He's not going to win the body language Olympics, but the fact alone that he played and produced in all five NIT games is telling. A lot of guys would have opted out of that.

I will say that, based on what I observed, he was one of the worst defenders in the Big East last season - particularly away from the ball. He got a lot of steals which bumps the advanced numbers, but advanced numbers have never been a reliable measure of defense.

While they picked up some nice pieces, there wasn’t much splash until Kadary.

“Filled it out nicely” and a “contingent” ceiling are not things that SJU fans hoped as descriptors for next years team with Pitino at the helm and unlimited NIL cash…

ST John's is going to compete for a conference title.

Thanks for your updated analysis. I thought some of the celebration was somewhat premature. Rick Pitino will always be a nemesis. He reminds me of Darth Vadar. Always lurking. Dark Shadows. But certainly, a worthy opponent and overall good for the Big East. They're always going to be a pain in the _ _ _ . Just have to accept that as a given.

Also, like auror said, Kadary really doesn't move without the ball all that much. Just watch any Seton Hall game and you or anyone else will see that. It's not to say Seton Hall didn't have intricate plays, they did, but a lot of times Richmond would break the play and try to create in iso. That's why whenever Fox went into the Seton Hall's huddle you would hear Holloway criticize his players when they were standing around and watching someone else, usually Richmond, go iso.
THAT will not go over with Pitino.

Our guards are not tall or long for next year. Richmond will be an even tougher cover because of that. Might have to put a wing on him.

With no Stephon Castle to diminish Richmond, I would say Solo Ball, even though he is shorter, and preferably Jaylen Stewart.

I don't know about Darth Vader but he definitely is a vampire.
