Your brother in law needs to be aware of AI hallucinations. There is a term since false information from AI is not uncommon.I have a brother in law who lives his life via AI; he takes their advice and asks it prolly 100 questions a day.
I warn him, "you can't always trust those things man, it is constantly wrong"
And he always replies, "it's literally a supercomputer brain, how can it be wrong"
I heard a comment along the lines that AI knows a lot about a topic if you don’t know much but it doesn’t know much if you know a lot about the topicI have a brother in law who lives his life via AI; he takes their advice and asks it prolly 100 questions a day.

Presumably they're restricting what the AI has access to and it isn't just crawling across the entire Internet to gobble up every crackpot and weirdo's explanations or theories. My company has a proprietary AI GPT and I've asked it some technical questions and I've been pleasantly surprised at the quality of answers.
Makes sense. We used to use a saying in my early IT career, garbage in garbage out. It’s no different with AI and data no matter how fast your super computers are.Presumably they're restricting what the AI has access to and it isn't just crawling across the entire Internet to gobble up every crackpot and weirdo's explanations or theories.
Was silk song with the wait? Been meaning to buy it but haven't got around to it yet. Loved hollow KnightThere's a video game I was waiting years to play, called Hollow Knight: Silksong. The game took so long to come out that the fanbase was going insane, filling the internet with misinformation about the game.
It came out last September, and AI still frequently will say that it hasn't come out yet, or it will regurgitate that blatant misinformation, because of how polluted the internet is with that stuff.
A human can look at the whole situation and realize it's just fan craziness/satire, and an AI is just blindly repeating what it sees.
I loved it. Have played through 3 times so far.Was silk song with the wait? Been meaning to buy it but haven't got around to it yet. Loved hollow Knight
I just beat Hollow Knight, 106%, a few weeks ago for the first time. Fun game. I hear silk song is way harder, I'm a bit intimidated. There's a video game I was waiting years to play, called Hollow Knight: Silksong. I asked it ahead of the game what time it was scheduled for. It just made crap up.It's not that AI isn't ready, it's that AI cannot understand intent the way most people communicate.
You really need to prompt it properly..
It doesn't refer to an internal calendar like people do, it refers to what it understands as the most common historical reference.
Most models will merge or collapse timeframes unless the user implicitly requests "Today's" score or yesterday's score
When it uses retrieval, you can still see transformers hallucinate
If you use less ambiguous language, you'll get more accurate results
What was the score of the uconn game on January.....
AI is doing quite well.
