I don't go golf. I work at a golf club as a golf professional. I do much more than golf. Wish I could say I got to golf enough. Not what many people may think. I love my job and I love Uconn Athletics. I am 24 years old, make pennies and peanuts and made the decision to move to Florida for my future. I'm sorry I don't live in CT any longer and can't afford season tickets or attend every game. I attend every game that I can. I drove 3.5 hours through pouring rain across the state and stood through the mess to watch this team take on USF in what "many" have called an embarrassment. When I was fortunate enough to visit home, I convinced my family to attend the Boise State game. My own mother wanted to plug her ears due to my incessant cheering and support of this football program.
My comments extend from the many comments I have seen from "many" saying they are "done", "not renewing season tickets", etc. And how do you infer that I mooch? I do what I can. I work every holiday, most weekends and most months get less than 3 days off. But ok. Attempt to poke fun that I live in Florida, support the Huskies and share my disdain in those that have given up according to their comments. If it was financially feasible and possible for me to own season tickets, you better believe I would. But to think I "mooch from the sunshine state" and "take shots at the people who actually shell out dough while I go golf" is unfair". I'm sorry I can't afford to travel near and far, buy season ticket packages and such. I do what I can to support this program "shelling out dough" as best I can as well.
