Just got back from Storrs

Snuck into Gampel, wow, they have done a lot of work........new score boards, new jumbotron, and SEAT B-cks in all sections except 220's and lower and upper end zones on one end. The other end has lower seat backs,but no upper, yet.

Storrs center has grown unbelievably, Has a Price Chopper open, an emergency Med Center, and multiple store fronts with no tenant, as yet. Really, really looks sharp.

P.s. I didn't realize that the tiles looked that bad.

I've never looked up before. I watched the game.

I haven't been to Gampel in a number of years, I cannot sit on the bleacher seats,same with most senior citizens. I do go to the games in Hartford though.

From what I'm gathering, @uconnell hasn't been to Gampel in a number of years, as pointed out in post #3 above. So the new updates are from 5 years ago, not from after the season.

I also just got back from Storrs and was possibly checking out the exterior of the new practice facility as you were sneaking into Gampel. Does anyone know when the practice facility will be open? It appears they are putting on the finishing touches now.

BTW. Regarding the "multiple store fronts with no tenant", CVS is going to take up most of the space in the building next to the park. A bagel place will be there also. I have not heard if they have a tenant signed up yet for the small building near the Price Chopper. They're working on the foundation for another building across the new road from the grocery store and behind the Post Office.

Both units in the small building in the Price Chopper lot are leased. Numerous units in the remaining buildings to be constructed are pre-leased. You can go the
Charter Realty and Development web page for the Storrs Center webcam and a detailed site plan with current and future tenants.

There's a new football practice facility on campus, pretty impressive stuff. It's weird though because the football stadium now has a basketball facility in its place. Anyone know where they'll play??
