Playing against UConns defense is not a fair fight because UConns defense pulls teams out of their own game. UConns defense makes you doubt how you play the game because of their execution. Just think for a minute how many recent games Geno has pulled his starters before the or in the 4th qtr? Opponents have a chance to play their game but know they will never win. They may catch up and make it mentally respectable however they know, and Geno knows they can't win. That's confidence. That's playing at a different level. That's playing under control. It was a surprise last year in the NCAAs. Three number one seeds being handled like they had never experienced. They fought hard however UConn being disciplined, and under control just continued to execute their game confidently knowing that's all they had to do. We love watching them because they make it look so easy. That's what tuff practice does. Hours and hours of coaching and working until they can't get it wrong. Sometimes they do but they don't let that bother them they just go back and continue to do what they were taught and winning just happens. Practicing and drilling on the same fundamentals can be boring and take its toll on you but it's worth it. It is rewarding when all the practice pays off.
