It’s November. I realize today is a rough day and UConn fans are literally jockeying for space on the GW bridge catwalk but we have a whole season in front of us. Yes, there’s a lot to figure out but this can still be a great season. I think it’s good not to play Iowa State at this point anyway. The team needs to get a win and regroup. There are plenty of opportunities to get quality wins so let’s keep our spirits up. ( my best Scrappy imitation)

The McRib is back! But only for a limited time, again. My only question is why put pickles on a rib sandwich? Why?

I get the onions, but not the pickles. And why not cheese? If I'm bringing it home, I put a slice of Land O Lakes on that bad boy. You cannot put whatever McDonald's calls cheese on that thing. The sodium content explodes, just like your colon will minutes after eating a McRib, but I still love em. I do.

I agree. It is too early to write UConn off.

The shine is coming off. Our reputation is suffering. I think opposing teams will be getting a false sense of "they are easily beatable" going into games. UConn will be playing with a chip on their shoulder. That is when the tide will turn. There is enough talent to make a deep run. Too early to think otherwise.

If Mahaney’s offense was worth sacrificing his defense, then he’d be worth playing big minutes. His issue right now is that he doesn’t understand the offense, and is always 3 steps late which gums the whole system up

One would assume that will improve with time and we can get back to the double digit scoring Mahaney that we know. If not, Nowell has to develop much faster than planned. I think at this point Diarra is what he is (in a good way), so we really need one of those 2 things to happen

Mahaney ain’t it. He struggled against the cupcakes in addition to Maui. We need to run Nowell and get him up to speed. Nowell whiffed on a few threes, but otherwise the offense looked better with him in compared to Mahaney…and Nowell seemed to compete on on d. His upside is higher.

Nowell is going to have to develop. Diarra is gonna need a rest and Mahaney is proving to be an off guard not a point. Let him come in for Solo and run some action for him to allow him to shoot and score. We are gonna have to live with Nowell freshman mistakes but he is a point just gonna have to play a bigger role than originally anticipated.

The bigs is the hard part. Get Samson out reed in. Let him get some touches and allow him to be more like a Sanogo where we feed the ball into post more deliberately. The fouls on defense might have to be solved with some zone. I’m at a loss there as two games in a row isn’t an accident.

Stewart needs to be an impact off bench. Ross looks overmatched and can’t shoot from what we’ve seen.

That’s all I got. We have great coaches they are just gonna have to audible now that they see what exactly they have when the lights are now on.

Just a reminder tomorrow (Wednesday) is the biggest drinking night of the year.
The only good thing about the game being so late tomorrow is that I'll be absolutely blasted while watching it after having a full, productive Wednesday.

It's kinda funny. Nobody here really believes that we will:
1) miss the tourney
2) get knocked out first round
3) be unranked
4) finish middle of big east.

Why are we talking like it?

It just goes to show how hard recruiting is. The best transfer G the Back to back champs could get was Mahaney… More than anything this makes me thankful for the fact that KU swooped in and outbid us for Timberlake which enabled us to get Cam. We don’t win back to back with Timberlake instead of Cam.

My take is that Danny was way over his skis talking about 3peat 2 days after winning the title. Wasn’t smart.

Sort of glad that talk has been halted now. The media had been pushing it though.

Who could've imagined 0-3 in Maui? Dayton should've beaten UNC and can shoot threes (which we obviously can't defend) so I'd say a loss is more likely than a win. What a disastrous trip.

Time to adjust the expectations until this team gets better. They will but it's going to be a bumpy ride getting there. Might as well brace for it.

We've been so spoiled the last 2 years, especially last year. Well they did go through that rough patch in January 2023. Maybe they're just hitting it earlier this time. It's understandable with a new team like this.

I am embarrassed with all the Big 12, Yormark. splitting off basketball hype and then UConn goes ahead a loses to a mid level Big 12 team is not a good look. The critics have said it all along and this add fuel to the fire.

Disagree. The winning of back to back titles is the recruiting tool.

So what are you saying here? You're disagreeing that when he talks threepeat, he's not talking about the recent success at UConn is due to the amount of work the coaches and kids put into their game? He's not talking to potential recruits that the sky is the limit in Storrs?

You're saying Hurley should've stayed in his lane and played the humble card like he's never done in his life? There is nothing humble about UConn basketball.

This team will get better but can’t be compared to the championship teams. Besides all the other shortcomings that have been mentioned our defensive rebounding is fair at best and our offensive rebounding is dismal. It can improve but the two championship teams were rebounding bliss.

A title run will take a major transformation. Lots of good players, but no dominating players that can just change a game’s complexion.

Newton, Spencer, Clingan, Castle....replace that in 6 games or a full season?? I'm surprised at how many fans just go with we are awesome because of what recruits/transfers/team/media says we have. What they lost to NBA is so good....so many clutch shots...so many moments/ leaders. I may be wrong, they'll be fine and dangerous come March...BE play is totally different than these holiday tourneys per usual of every year. Refs blow/Hurley the man has his kids backs
