Carlton has really given us a big lift off the bench a few games. It’s so nice to see him contribute as a role player despite losing playing time to Whaley and Sanogo. He doesn’t qualify for the leaderboard on KenPom.com because he hasn’t played enough minutes. If he did qualify, his 16.8% offensive rebounding rate would be sixth in the country. His defensive rebounding rate is a solid 22.2%, just behind Sanogo for second on the team. Sanogo’s DR% of 23.6% is 80th in the country, while his 9.9 OR% is good for 197th. Tyrese is at 155 (10.5%). Having depth, as it turns out, is good.

He can be a difference maker in the Tournament.

With a healthy Bouk playing close to 30mpg and a healthy Jackson playing 20 mpg, the rotation is set.
Sanogo is getting his 20-25 mpg, Whaley is getting his 25 mpg. Martin and Polley fill in some minutes at the 4 spot (Yes, I know neither one is a four, but they get minutes from that spot). Josh should be good for 12-15 mpg based on match ups.

His FT's looked good today too.

Last year Josh and Isaiah worked really well together up front. The refs love to whistle Adama so we will see Josh.

that was unexpectedly fun to watch

Fouls, injuries and big men in the Beg Ten lay ahead. We will need our bigs to perform well, not just with rebounds but to provide some balanced offense off of misses from outside. The last couple of games we seemed to recognize how hard it was to pass inside and our guards just shot. This worked better as our bigs were in good position to rebound. Just loved the balanced scoring in the GT game! This was a highwater mark for that portion of our offense. More of this and we are a tough out.

In his younger years Josh would grab a rebound but be unable to control it or hang onto it. Sometimes it was just taken away from him. The big difference with Josh is his hands are so much stronger. Once he gets his hands on the ball, it ain't going anywhere.

Josh was a real big piece yesterday I am so happy for him to finish at Gampel like that. Such a good kid who played it out. Maybe a bigger prize for him to come, who knows but he deserves it all.

The BE DPOY gets into early foul trouble and the team doesn't skip a beat.

Polley is definitely a 4 in college BB as he can't play the 3 due to lack of foot speed and Martin is a small ball 4 in college Basketball. Why are people so fixated with a big guy having to be a certain size as the 4 as the college game and pro game has changed to mobile 4's which both Polley and Martin are. Yes there are still some traditional 4's on some college teams but they aren't commonplace in today's game.
