Saw the replay, looks pretty bad. She fell at the end of their Alabama game and appeared to try to break the fall with her hand. Never want to see a kid get hurt like that. Feel badly for the Vols fans.

Hate it for her most of all. Hate it because she won't be playing against us Saturday when we host Gameday. I feel real sorry for her, and feel sympathy for the coach and team.

Vol fans. Yeah, I even feel a bit of sympathy for y'all and the freefall your team is in. Good luck except Saturday from 1:00 til 4:00

I heavily edited my original post. It sounded cold and callous and that was not my intention.

I don't like to see any player get hurt, especially during a game. The LVs have collapsed this year after a very promising start and Horston, while still making more TOs than many would prefer, has shown she is worthy of her billing out of high school.

Here is to a full recovery and return to form, whenever it may be.

No, no, no! You can't pick and choose. When you wish a team good luck it has to be for all games, even the ones against SC :p;).

Horston, apparently, fractured her left elbow. It was reported that a doctor popped the elbow back in then stabilized the elbow with an inflatable cast. Horston walked off the court under her own power in an intense amount of pain.

Wouldn't a dislocated elbow be popped back into place? Don't fractures usually require surgery?
Caveat: I'm not a doctor and haven't stayed at a Holiday Inn Express recently.

I know folks like to share injury stories, but I won't draw any comparisons between my oafish ability to play basketball with Horston. When I was playing in a league in my early 20s, I went up for a shot in the lane and this large man knocked me to the ground (it's relevant only because I'm also a large man, so I wasn't easy to knock down!). It was the exact same thing, I went to brace myself. Ended up with a fractured wrist and instead of my elbow peaking at the end...it was a valley. Significant parts of the bone just shattered. Miraculously none of the bone broke through the skin. Apparently I screamed like they hadn't heard before but I don't remember much of that moment. Still have a couple screws in there today!

The two aren't mutually exclusive.
It's possible to have a dislocated elbow and have a fracture at the same time.
I'm just repeating what an eye witness reported.

Eerie timing however I was talking to a colleague today who's son suffered a fractured knee cap. They were able to move it back into place and avoided the surgery route.

When she fell you could see that the elbow was dislocated. I think for a full 5 minutes I railed at the basketball gods. This woman deserves our prayers and hopes for a full recovery. This just stinks man. She was finally starting to live up to all that potential, and now this. Stinks.

Has there been a final diagnosis? Expected back soon...expected back for tournament...not expected back?
Best wishes to her.

Out for the rest of the season. As per a team mate's AAU coach.

Terrible news for the Lady Vols' season - I pretty much expected her not to be available for Sunday.......

truly sorry for jordans injury but have to suck it up.... play tough next person up lets go

I feel bad for Horston and I hate that it happened while Tenn. was trying to come back from being way behind in the score.
That scenario would seem to be setting up a bad circumstance for when an injury would more likely occur, when players are exceeding their normal limits of performance to try to win.
I'm also concerned that Tenn. may suffer another major blowout on national TV too.
Maybe Coach Staley and SC will show Tenn. some mercy by using a lot of subs.
I also wondered if ABC would consider switching to another game to save Tenn and WCBB the embarrassment that may result from another blowout of Tenn.
After all, it was expected to be a competitive enough game for the entire nation to watch, and now it may not be very competitive.
If I were an ABC Exec, I would try to cut the network's viewership losses by airing another game if possible.

Rough stretch for Tennessee...losing Burrell at the beginning of the year and likely Horston for the rest of the season. So many key players enduring injuries this season.

Youch, elbow injuries i'm sure hurt a lot. I remember Kaleena M-L's elbow injury, I remember hearing how loud she was screaming in pain from that.
