It seems he jumped off his garage roof with 47 pigeons scotch-taped to his arms, but had an unlucky landing because some kid sprinkled popcorn on the driveway.

a very, very funny man: "back in the day", comedy was pretty buttoned-up, pretty formulaic. Winters went "off the reservation", going off on tangents, free-associating. Sometimes, it worked, sometimes it didn't, but, there's a reason why he was a guest star on "Mork and Mindy" - Robin Williams' style owes much to the ground-breaking lunacy of Jonathan Winters.

Robin has always given JW a great deal of credit.

Absolutely loved him. He made me laugh until I was...well...incontinent.

I remember his legendary (?) dual role in 'The Fish That Saved Pittsburgh'.

Oscar-worthy ;) ....
