It seems he jumped off his garage roof with 47 pigeons scotch-taped to his arms, but had an unlucky landing because some kid sprinkled popcorn on the driveway.

Sometimes, it worked, sometimes it didn't, but, there's a reason why he was a guest star on "Mork and Mindy" - Robin Williams' style owes much to the ground-breaking lunacy of Jonathan Winters.
