Article date 8/6/21, so sorry if this was already posted (don't recall seeing it). You have to scroll down a little past "best mascots" and "worst mascots" to get to "sexiest mascots". I've never seen huskies as "sexy" so it's a little lost on me but I'd rather have our mascot get highly ranked in something positive instead of say getting ranked among the worst mascots or most offensive mascots.

Not sure why the WVU mascot is considered offensive...

Ok, then. Wilbur and Wilma were 8th sexiest - and the Scarlet Knight 9th.

That's some strange pickings.

Wilma, however, is spot on. In some ways, it is her thing. Coy hand gestures and all of that. Wilma does the women's sports and Wilbur the men. They typically appear together but separately at football games, and, for example, Wilbur might be seen at an especially important women's game or occasion, such as the annual Wilbur's Birthday Party women's game. Officially, they are Mr. and Mrs. Wildcat.

Not to answer for those who voted but if I had to venture a guess it's probably because he's holding a rifle and in light of a lot of mass shootings the past decade or so anyone holding a firearm may be considered by many to be "offensive" even if he's just "shootin' at some food" a la Jed Clampett.

Odd that FSU is #1 for most offensive. I don't think it's the Seminole Tribe that is offended by this, but so nice someone else is offended on their behalf.

edit--oh my, the honorable mentions for most offensive. I'm sorry, but people are just dumb. A slug, okra, a pickle, and a stalk of wheat? Who is offended by this? I'm offended by what people get offended about.

I suspect it more likely has to do with the stereotypical mountain man. I don't see the issue either way, although I object to his historic habit of firing off powder in the musket at the end of halves. Scares the heck out of you because it is unexpected (even if not totally unexpected because you've been to a game before).

They have deleted the creepy and offensive from their post due to "feedback". That said, I think the listed slug, etc. were not so much deemed offensive as being completely strange.

That never really bothered me. But then, I grew up in an area where just about everyone hunted and during deer season you heard gun shots all the time. Hey, at least he doesn't have a jug of moonshine in the other hand. ;)

Thoughts on this @KnightBridgeAZ ? Some looking to change name from "Sun Devils" to "Sun Angels".

They can do whatever they wish - the "petition" seems relatively tongue in cheek.

I will continue to simply call them ASU, or when they get snide, "the school up north" or "Arizona Normal School". I will continue to root mildly for WBB when it doesn't affect us while CTT is still the coach. As for the rest of their sports - can't lose enough. And I'm pretty mild compared to other Wildcat fans.

I don't know how the Providence Friar avoided the unsexiest list. I attended an SC vs Providence Basketball game at Mohegan Sun a few years ago and the Friar gave me nightmares.

Or maybe it was from losing in the casino.
