Jon Rothstein's European "Vacation"

Basketball narrative robot. This content I endorse though.

I get why people find him annoying, but his general shtick is funny to me.

What’s funny about this whole Europe thing is it’s the first time he’s been there, yet his tourist photos just have basketball content as its captions.

He’s a weirdo who’s being exactly who he is and I respect that. He's got his favorite programs too and UConn is certainly one of them.

Honest question, I must have missed something. Is Sampson Johnson a potential outside shooter?

He's hilarious. It's especially funny when the world is burning down and twitter is going crazy, and you have Jon Rothstein tweeting about Evansville scheduling the South Harmon Institute of Technology in an OOC game lol

Well Samson Johnson is. Absolutely so. Going to knock down a bunch of corner 3's. Good look doubling Sanogo and then getting out to get in the way of a 6'9" shooter.

Is he saying Uconn players CAN throw the ball in the ocean?

Wild, but he’s actually staying at Casa Angelina, the same hotel I was at a few weeks ago for my honeymoon. I thought it looked familiar. This picture I took is almost identical.

But we’re you thinking of our outside shooting potential at the time?

what a crazy person

That was my thought as well. There is being a fanatic, and then there's just being an idiot. If you can't enjoy your summer vacation when you're a few months from having any real work to do, the latter is more appropriate.

It's a brand. I'm sure he's enjoying his vacation as much as you or I do, or more.

He gets the humble brag and the rep for being obsessed with his job, which happens to have a lot of fans. In the time it takes us to respond to a work e-mail, he posts a tweet that probably accomplishes more.

His job is to sell his brand. I'm not a fan, but he's successful at it.

Wonder what his take is on British Airways and Scottish weddings.
I can’t say for sure but I’m guessing they remind him of the AAC.

Guy is great for college basketball- actually surprised he doesn’t get more attention & he’s not all over CBB kinda like Vitale when he was in his prime- although he doesn’t call games that often….

We're talking about him on a uconn basketball forum. 10 mins of work a day and he's getting the press he needs to keep "working" on vacation. His branding is pretty brilliant actually. It's pretty easy to do, but he's constantly in the spotlight staying relevant

He's paying for his vacation with that 10 minutes of work a day.

A couple of tweets a day and I'm sure he'll have a catchy slogan about vacation and basketball on a t-shirt being sold on his website by next week
