Anyway, over the course of doing my interviews I found out that when Breanna was first invited to play for USA Basketball's U16 team, in 2008, she was just 14 years old. It was first year USA Basketball fielded a team that young and her name was mentioned to the national program through high-level AAU channels.

Initially, Breanna's parents, Brian and Heather, didn't know what to make of it and were considering turning the invitation down.
