The Huskies are working on future contracts for non-conference opponents beginning with the 2014-15 season.
Notre Dame continues to be a high-priority for a multiple-year deal because of television’s great interest in what was the hottest rivalry in sport before the breakup of the Big East.
UConn is also likely looking for a new opponent in the SEC and Georgia may again be the forefront for next season, partly because of the obligation to schedule a home game for junior Brianna Banks.
Also, there is a distinct possibility UConn is going to be able to add a third West coast game to next season’s schedule in Los Angeles to accommodate Mo
squeda-Lewis. Discussions are on-going with the Pac-12 network to clear a game with either USC or UCLA so that it could be televised in Connecticut. Last season’s game at Oregon on Dec. 31 was not televised in the state because of the Pac-12’s reluctance to grant broadcast rights to SNY.
The Huskies are already scheduled to play at Stanford and UC-Davis next season and could look to fit an LA game into the same trip.
Also, the Big-10 is also providing somewhat of road block regarding the local availability of this season’s game at Penn State in November. That might be one of the reason’s SNY has not announced its schedule of telecasts for the season.
But I think UCLA would make for another larger significant rivalry in the future. I believe they have been getting great recruits for a few years now. They just have a natural higher profile than USC in basketball. Would be another good thing for our program!I hope they can play USC since 3 of KML's high school team mates now play for USC. I think this match up could be fun.
Not in WBB. Seeing as USC has a couple NCAA Championships and UCLA has never been to a FF.But I think UCLA would make for another larger significant rivalry in the future. Yes they did. That's why I was specific on NCAA. Besides WBB didn't start until 1995, so USC's don't really count either.Though UCLA did go to an AIAW final 4 in the Ann Meyers era (~79).

Hmmmm- guess I really didn't think it through- but I think UCLA has been recruiting better in recent years- not sure it shows in their head to head vs USC or PAC standings? Not in WBB. Seeing as USC has a couple NCAA Championships and UCLA has never been to a FF.
Agreed, UCLA has the advantage recently in the recruiting wars. I'd rather see UCONN playing UCLA, probably better games. We have played them in the past.Hmmm Hmmmm- guess I really didn't think it through- but I think UCLA has been recruiting better in recent years- not sure it shows in their head to head vs USC or PAC standings?
Unfortunately, they used to have that beautiful coach, but I think she left for another team a year or two ago. I think UCLA came to UConn to watch UConn practice when she was the coach.Agreed, UCLA has the advantage recently in the recruiting wars. I'd rather see UCONN playing UCLA, probably better games.
