So far, Diarra is doing what he does best (defense, penetration) better than what Joey does best (shooting). But, what about Alleyne? I’d like to see him get more minutes. I feel he has shown some of his potential and has better defense and size than Joey.
Unless the guy you are guarding is torching you for more Than you are scoring. Can always count on the BY for recency bias.
Diarra is playing because he brings aggressive D. To his credit, through constant effort, Diarra consistently brings the same results every time he steps on the court. DH and everyone knows what they’re getting when he enters a game.
Joey C is the opposite, when he’s on he brings scintillating offense to the game. Offense is a skill set that can’t be elevated through effort, by shooting “harder”. It’s not as consistent.
So, yeah when Joey C is off then more of his minutes should go to Diarra.
But when Joey is ON, there’s no debate. Joey plays, Diarra sits. A hot shooter trumps D every time. EVERY TIME. It can flip a close game into a runaway rout in a matter of minutes. it comes and goes. Must ride it when it’s hot.
Which player was that? If you want to take Joey C out of a game when he’s hot and replace him with Diarra to do whatever, then we’ll just have to disagree.Unless the guy you are guarding is torching you for more Than you are scoring.
That was just a general commentWhich player was that? If you want to take Joey C out of a game when he’s hot and replace him with Diarra to do whatever, then we’ll just have to disagree.
Joey has been so bad lately he’s just Joey from now on. Diarra has played better overall than Joey lately so maybe he’s just better than Joey. If Joey continues to play lousy, he’ll just be Joe.I think Hurley needs to find more minutes for Joey and less for Diarra. Joey’s minutes have been way down lately. Early in the season against ranked teams when the team was in sync he was getting decent minutes and was helping UCONN with scoring as well as distributing the ball. His defense is definitely good enough. Diarra has good energy for a bench player and is good on D but he isn’t a scorer, Joey is. California plays decent enough defense to get more playing time.
This is really getting overlooked.
I agree, we are on page 3 of these comments and they are repetitive.Three pages of comments, and everyone is saying the same thing.
