Ryan Boatright and Uconn is referenced at the end of the article. Also again this article shows how the NCAA is out of control and how they wield their power with total disregard for the student athlete.

Thanks for the link.

In a country that is proud of its commitment to fair play, how can something that is so obviously out of control in its works, as the NCAA, be allowed to be Unregulated?

Peace,

There are a lot of unregulated entities. It's hardly like this is the only one. Or the most important one.

The NCAA is composed of too many insiders (a fact I point out when I mention that Ced Dempsey, ex-NCAA head, went to work for the slimy Pump Bros. after leaving the NCAA) but the alternative is likely an entity dominated by the SEC (one could argue that describes the NCAA already). In other words, get rid of the NCAA and you'll have something worse than the NCAA.

Or, they could simply allow boosters and agents to pay players, and then the NCAA's problems will be gone.

I don't know all the details, but Siena got hit with similar sanctions on its top two recruits - both African kids from American prep schools. When football teams can have 26 year old quarterbacks that we're formerly professional baseball players, how can they justify punishing a kid from a third world country because he/she needs an extra year to prepare for entry into American colleges.
