Fordham is past the tough part of their schedule. They could go undefeated and get an invite to the FCS tournament.

Joe Moorhead needs to be on Warde's shortlist. The guy is an innovator, he gets the most out of his players and puts them in a position to win. He is not locked into any type of system, he instead formulates a system that matches the talent of his players.

Also at this point we should want an Edsall desciple.

You do realize that every coach hired at UCONN since John Toner hired Tom Jackson from Penn State (where he was OL coach) has been a D1A Asst. Skip was OC at ND (beat out former BC and NCST HC Tom O'Brien then OC at UVA) and Edsall was DC at GTech (he beat out Former Vikings HC Brad Childress then OC at Wisconsin). Those four guys have done very good jobs at the FCS level..I just don't think with the sense of urgency around this program after it has been run into the ground they have the experience at the level where we need to go with the pace we need to get there.

Moorhead and Ambrose have been D1A assistants. I don't see how becoming an FCS head coach and being very successful diminishes their resume.

There isn't much difference between the MAC and the top level of the FCS. Stony Brook just took Buffalo to a 4th OT at Buffalo.

I'll be interested to see if they make the list...from how he hired at UB I'm gonna say that his list will include guys like Pat Narduzzi of Mich St, Diaco of ND, Venables and possibly Morris of Clemson, Cristobal of Bama, Possibly McNulty of Miami and Hudson of Perdue

I've been wanting us to go after McNulty to get him back to UCONN for a long time. I had hoped that would be the guy we went after when Edsall left. I wrote about it. He was an assistant with Skip Holtz's staff. He was part of the whole thing to build to 1-A.

If there is a hint of anything left in the guy as to the energy that went into wanting to build toward that back in the late 1990s, that's the guy I want back here running things now.

I got McNulty confused with Mark D'Onfrio...add them both to the list..although if you talk to Rutty fans they were VERY happy to see McNulty leave for the wr job with the Cardinals.

This. And only this. Disqualifying FCS coaches is just plain stupid. It would be equally stupid to disqualify a BCS coordinator out of fear of the Peter Principle.

I wouldn't be thrilled with Ambrose, but Moorhead led our best offense in the Edsall era and has shown he can win. We could do a lot worse.
