Apologies if these have been posted.
“We have done some individual (workouts), but it is a hard balance between taking advantage of the rule (allowing coaches to work with players in a one-on-one setting) and not killing them now in June. It is a long season. If you are any good you play from September to April, so we are trying to balance that. They are working really hard in the weight room and done some individuals, which I think is really helpful for the freshmen because they don’t know what to expect.”
UConn women’s basketball freshmen Sadie Edwards and Courtney Ekmark have been enrolled in the summer session since June 2, while Gabby Williams just arrived on campus following her graduation from Reed High School in Reno, Nevada. Kia Nurse is spending most of the summer training with the Canadian national team. She was on campus for a couple of days in early June but did not enroll in summer classes.
“I think that no matter how prepared you think you are, your head is spinning for the first two weeks trying to figure it all out,” Dailey said. “I would say they have all adjusted to it pretty well.”
Dailey also said Morgan Tuck, who had her sophomore season ended prematurely due to a knee injury, is “doing some conditioning, but I don’t know if she is doing the whole (basketball) thing yet.”
