I watched Jim Foster's post-game presser after the Chattanooga game and the most impressive part was his impressions of Tierney Lawlor, he referred to her as, "that little #22, who doesn't play a lot" he talked specifically about the hustle and effort that UConn displays as a team. He remarked that TLaw was busting her ass to close out on a 3-point attempt when her team was winning by 50, he seemed genuinely impressed. That tells me he doesn't watch the Huskies very often, which is understandable since he has his own team to coach. It's a testament to the standard that the Huskies play to regardless of the score. I saw them in person in C-Bus against tOSU and they are an absolute machine and a joy for a Basketball fan to watch.

I didn't hear the presser, but I have to believe that Foster was likely referring to Tierney, who at 5'7" would better qualify as "that little.." than the much bigger Courtney (6'0").

And while Courtney does work hard and clearly has better basketball skills than Tierney, when it comes to "hustle and effort" there may be nobody on the entire UConn roster who better exemplifies those traits than Tierney Lawlor.

I don't even like speaking about Notre Dame, but Tierney Lawlor is our "Rudy."

Wrong player, right point!
It was Courtney closing out on I believe the last three point shot of the game by Chattanooga - she was at the FT line when the pass was made, and arrived in time to make her presence felt as the shot went up. (And she did not plow into the shooter!)

(I actually replayed the last minute to check after I saw the quote from the presser because I was curious.)

I thought it was TLaw he was talking about on the the wing 3, but when I watched the replay it was Courtney at the top. Because TLaw didn't play. My mistake folks thanks for the correction.

Mebbe even one or two of us who bear some correcting. (Got my hand up)

((Am HUGE Williams fan - but I'd have yanked her butt in a New York minute for Lawlor or Ekmark when she dogged it back on D the other night...and on the heels of a screw up no less.)

Ain't that the Damn Truth!!

The exact number or identity of the UCONN player does not negate the Point of Foster's comment. The comment could have been said of any UCONN player. The score does not matter you are required to give max effort at all times. IMO-this is unique in not only WCBB but in team sports and as imcbs stated "a beautiful thing to watch"!

T-Law is #20.
Obviously, I'm a huge Courtney Ekmark fan and cheering section. However---T-Law is impressive too. I venture to say she would be a starter on 70 or more percent of the Teams Uconn plays as would Courtney. They work hard all the time and it's not just to impress coach, that is who they are--OR-- they wouldn't be part of Geno's team. Geno does not recruit trash (normally, for the picking nits)

You guys have been talking about that but I missed it. Can you supply a ball park time of the game for it?

I understand you mean this as a tribute to Tierney but--T-Law gets in nearly every game. Don't you think Tierney is she is much much more talented than any rudy--many AAC players--and loads of bench players on top teams. . The kid can shoot.
