There is a lengthy thread on the guy-side board about this development. His statement reflects good health for both he and his wife.
Hope that is true...and that is oft mentioned over there due to his frequent battles with/wins over health matters.
JC took a decent regional program to a national power...already an HOF'er and clearly ranks on the short list of all-time men's college coaches.
He and our-side Himself...a duo not yet matched in college...perhaps never will be. If a recruit wants to go to a university where basketball
is #1, there are darn few of them in the land and none with the hoop pedigree of UConn. Wishing him the best of health with frequent appearances
at games in Gampel and Hartford...and final fours...both women and men.

He is a legend. 3 NC's and possibly could have won a 4th if he'd not retired (Ollie won with Calhoun's recruits). Didn't always care for his style, but former players loved him, and he put UCONN on the map on the men's side.

Have a restful and healthy retirement Coach C!

I'd like to thank the booster(s) who pushed for him while the Courant was talking about Howie Dickerman Jr. who ended up coaching Central. Dickerman's father had a long career in boys basketball in CT and had a lot of friends.
