If memory serves me I believe that he played as a true freshman. Maybe a redshirt year is the best option?

Can't answer that question without knowing the extent of his injury. From all indications we've heard that he'll be back at some point this year. If he's healthy by 10/8 at WVU you don't want to play him?

1. He did not take a RS year yet, and could take one and still have two years of eligibility.

2. If he had an ACL, he'd be out for the year and you would have heard it. If he had an MCL, more consistent with what has been reported (brace rather than crutches and no surgery announcement), he'll be at 100% before Big East play starts. If that is the case, there is no way they won't play him.

I'm glad to hear he can be up to 100% with an MCL. My fear was him missing half our games and then playing at well under full strength.

He's already 23 as a true junior. Not sure he'd want to stick around for two more years. If he can play by mid-October at 100%, he'll get over half of the season in and the possibility of whatever bowl we can qualify for.

Joseph might be able to play at some point, but I wasn't aware that a torn MCL could be healed 100% that quickly. Maybe 70%.

Has it been confirmed that it is an MCL for JJ? Does anyone know the severity? Sprain? Partial tear? Full tear?
