Jerry Meyer back to predicting UConn for Abu

IF the PC trolls would stay on their own board no one's feelings would be hurt- we simply do not give a rats ass about Pc basketball nor their coach.

They should leave well enough alone, I agree. Why come and piss on someone's cake, I'll never get it. I'm in that small camp that really tries to not let others behavior determine mine. Their behavior is a reflection on them and its a zero sum game on some goofy Internet forum.

I could care less if they are good, that does not mean we don't retain our current status in mcbb. They are not mutually exclusive. Which is why I never get into a twist about it. Just the way I look at it, doesn't mean that my perspective is right for everyone. I do draw the line at certain things though, but that's over.

I'll have to disagree with you on this. One of the highlights for me was watching it play out and observing Yonick and FriarJ having a reasonable discourse. It took them several years but it happened the other day.

I'm with those who hate all the smack talk and negativity that goes on between any posters whether it's between UConn guys or between fans of different teams.

But people get nowhere if they live in bubbles or have an authority take over responsibilities they themselves can manage.

It was within everyone's right to protest their presence. However there are decent options to handling the situation without the need for our moderators to ban them. All people have to do is not respond to them. And there is a very easy option of putting them on ignore.

I like their perspective. FriarJ is actually an interesting dude. He won't back down but is gracious. He has a realistic viewpoint of UConn's and PC's programs. He's excited about his team but he's realistic. That's an unusual combo. Sean has mellowed out. I would expect him to trash UConn fans if Abu goes to PC. But FriarJ would be much more humble about it and it would be an honest humility.

HAHA crazier things have happened so I guess there is still some hope for PC. You did bring up an interesting dynamic I didn't think of though, clearly Gottfried told Abu anything you hear from Purvis is crap. I can't even imagine all the things bull#% ! Abu has/will hear if not from this situation, but from the fact one of head coaches recruiting him, played at the other school recruiting.

You know I had completely forgotten that PC also has a transfer from the Gottfried regime at NCST. Tyler Harris, hear something from one guy, it's sour grapes, hear it from 2 guys from different years who don't know each other...

it's between us and pc imo. i think florida visit was just to visit the state of florida. and if he goes to NCS he deserves what gotfried gives him, purvis will give him a warning so it's up to him.

@FinkelsteinNERR: BREAKING - Kaleb Joseph has committed to Syracuse while on his official visit

There goes the "Friar Five"! If PC honestly thought they were getting him they are crazy.
Yep, that was done at the end of July.

She would need to have a body bag over her!

Why is it not ok to say a man needs a hat to cover a medical condition but it is ok to say a woman needs a bag over her head.

Old and ugly isn't a medical condition so it's ok.

Seriously? That's the distinction you're making? We're talking about vitiligo, or light patches of hair. I don't see the big difference between making fun of light hair patches and old age/lack of beauty. Both are the result of natural causes.

By the way, here's an odd story: "Cooley was required to take the SATs four times before the NCAA allowed him to play basketball there. He did not score high enough on his first two attempts, scored a 900 but was accused of cheating on his third test, and finally scored a 1390 on his fourth, supervised test.[3]"

From twice scoring below an 800 to a 1390?

That's wild. That's the wildest jump I have ever heard of! And that was the old test. He scored the equivalent of a 1490 today. Those are Ivy league-caliber SATs.

I know I'll get killed for this but it's such low hanging fruit that I can't resist. Maybe he used up so much brain power jumping 600 points that his scalp caught on fire.

.-.
I went a little overboard with my comment John, but a 600 point jump? Went from signing his name essentially to an Ivy League caliber score? That's got to be practically unheard of.

As always, anonymous Internet posters make such classy points. I wonder if you'd have the guts to say your funny stuff to Coach Cooleys face?

You do realize that your Providence board has always said horrible things about Coach Calhoun right? Did you ever admonish the PC posters?

When it comes to PC I keep thinking back to an old episode of 2 1/2 men when Alan thought he was gay. Berta said "life is so much easier once you've figured out if you are the pin or the cushion". PC has almost always (basically all but a handful of their BE life) been the cushion. What is irritating is that a few of their fans will use anything as evidence that their program actually does have a set (Keno & Krew dominating New England was head scratching but that was what they hung their hat on at that time, now it is the focus machine) and behave as if they have every right to stand toe to toe with us (behaving as if they can stand when they pee may be more appropriate) until reality sets in and they then need a new coaching staff as evidence the program supposedly has a set.

I don't know about the rest of the post, but I would say Providence is the Two and a Half Men of College Basketball teams.

I should hope Cooley would be smart enough not to hit a guy who insulted him like that, but who knows maybe he's not.

If Cooley and Jim Calhoun (at his current age) got in a bar fight, Calhoun would win 99 times out of 100.

Honestly Sean, I wouldn't care enough to even speak to Ed Cooley if I saw him in person. I admitted I went a bit too far so get over it. I know plenty of others have asked this already but why exactly do you post on this board so often?

Old and ugly isn't a medical condition so it's ok.
Are you saying old is ugly?
Or are you saying any jokes poked at old people and any jokes poked at ugly people are ok?
Or are you saying jokes could be made only if both metrics are met?

I want to know exactly how I should be insulted!

If you feel it necessary to make fun of physical maladies; that's your business. Just as its my business to call people out that I find are acting like jerks. If it bothers you; maybe you should look in the mirror

You should quote the person you are having the retort with. Otherwise my post will be confused as the one you are responding with.

Sean, you didn't answer my question. Did you call out the posters on the Providence board every time they said terrible things about Jim Calhoun?
