I know it's just the summer league, but can anyone explain why Beal and Waiters (among others) were drafted ahead Lamb?

With so much youth (Frosh/Sophs) it can become a crap shoot. There are a lot of variables as well. Some players adjust quicker than others, but later on the cream will rise to the top. Your right its summer league and its way too early to determine true rankings. Lamb is having a very good summer league and no more. He too will have his struggles (like Kemba), which come with youth and inexperience. In fact very few kids are NBA ready out of college (particularly underclassmen). We should review these draft picks this in 2-3 years. As for now enjoy Lamb while he's hot and gaining confidence. The test comes when the vets get on the floor, fighting for their paycheck and relevancy.

I can understand Beal, but the fact that Waiters was drafted ahead of Lamb (and even more so, at #4 overall) is a joke.

There were some concerns about his ballhandling at the 2 - whether he needed to play exclusively off the ball or if he could break NBA defenders down. He's had no problem in the summer (even today he didn't shoot well, but got his shots) - so that's a good sign.
