OT: Jenny Boucek joins NBA

Well......it didn't take Boucek long to resurface, and get back on her feet.

So.. She was fired from Seattle yet lands an NBA job? How does that work? Some people fail Up I guess?

Wow, talk about landing on your feet. Good job Jenny.

She didn't seem to do a very good job of player development w/ the Storm did she?

Agreed. I said as much on another thread in reference to KML.

Just to note that she worked for the King's organization back when they operated the WNBA team, in fact I think she was head coach for a while, and certainly more successful than at Seattle.

The NBA commish has said repeatedly that he wants a female head coach soon...so... (shrug).
Don't get me wrong, I believe a good coach is a good coach no matter the gender/race/religion whatever.. I just didn't see this coming after her performance at Seattle.

Also, TIL that Nancy Lieberman was no longer with the Kings. I'd like to know what happened there.

Normally, I would say that. But it is the Kings, who might be the worst franchise in the NBA.

In a league that has both the Knicks and the Nets... thats saying alot :p

From Head Coach to assistant coach in player development. That's hardly an upward move even if it is the NBA.

From Head Coach to fired to NBA. A bit upward but Kings? Nice part of the country.

Yeah, well, if she was another male coach or NBA coach or anything, she would most likely have landed on her feet too. So glad she has another opportunity and hope she can make the most of it and set a role model just like Becky Hammon as one of the few female coaches/staff in the NBA.
