Ok ! I was being lazy. I went to this game. Let me start by saying that the same game you saw between Rutgers and Tennessee is the same game I saw between DeSoto and THESA. Turnovers and missed shots dominated this game.

I got there 4 minutes into the first quarter because I was watching that thing between RU and UT up until 14 left in 2nd half. I had a seat directly behind THESA's bench. The first 3 trips up and down the court were turnovers because of bad passes by both teams. Then, Moriah hit a 3 pointer and Jordan went down the court and answered with a 3 pt shot. For Moriah to only have 20 points is a surprise because that first half her teammates couldn't buy a basket and it appeared to me that Moriah was the only one scoring at the time.

Moriah is the team for THESA. She plays all the positions at any giving time on the floor. She may be point for a minute, forward , center...she really does alot and you could tell when she was tired during the game...hands straight to hips. I know she'll be glad to get to UCONN just to relieve herself of some of those duties. To be fair #14 for THESA is a 3 pt specialist, she was on fire the 4th quarter, but she is a suspect ball handler and can't really create her own shot. Jordan Jones picked her clean quite a few times and scored easy lay ups. As a matter of fact, she took the ball from the entire team except Moriah( # 12 had that honor).

Moriah really didn't have any spectacular plays. She had a rebound which she dribble through the entire DeSoto team like she was weaving a basket and laid it in(At this point, someone in the crowd stated "Man, she should have gone to Baylor!"). Actually, when ever Moriah had the ball she dribbled through double teams and Desoto's team at will. She hit a couple of 3 pt shots. Threw a couple of thread the needle passes that her teammates should have been able to handle, but were turnovers. Those would have been highlights. Jordan teammates were doing the same thing with her passes. It was real sad to see that. Now Moriah did miss a few lay ups and shot a couple of air ball 3 pointers. On those threes she was well off the line. Her shot looks very smooth and has arc. She plays the passing lane well on defense and had a few steals. Moriah was everywhere.

Moriah and Jordan really didn't match up against one another....maybe 2-3 times. Jordan couldn't stop Moriah from driving, but Moriah played Jordan tight. They had their Magic and Isaiah moment, they were happy to be on the court together.

I will say if DeSoto is ranked 36th in the FAB 50, they didn't look all that great. They should have buried THESA by 20 points or more. They have talent but coaching was non existent and execution was terrible. JMO

If I can think of anything else I'll add it, but that was pretty much it.

Thanks for the excellent write-up...! Sounds like Mo has her work cut out for her with this year's THESA squad.
