Jeff King; I can't believe it's been 15 years.......

I was responding to another post and Jeff King came to mind. I cannot believe it has been 15 years since his death. I will never forget Jeff and Phil Gamble sitting on top of the scoreboard. What a great night that was!!!

Scoreboard or rim? You could tell he was a fun-lovin kid.......life was too short for Jeff........

My memory of Jeff King was from the early Jim Calhoun years before they won the NIT so it must have been 1987. UCONN was starting to be competitive and we were playing Syracuse at the Civic Center. The game was tied and I'm thinking. "My God, we're going to beat Syracuse!" Jeff King is inbounding the ball near half-court and throws the ball in and Derrick Coleman steals it dribbles down court for the game winning slam. That's my memory of Jeff King. That and that he was the skinniest big man I've ever seen besides Manute Bol.

With that said, rest in peace to him, taken away much too soon.
