I'm not a Jacobs fan, but it will be great not having to navigate through Google to read any of his articles from now on. The Courant is a joke, so abandoning ship is a smart move on their part. They also likely get wider distribution, since Hearst owns most of the smaller to medium sized market newspapers in the state, along with the New Haven Register and CT Post, both of which I like better than the Courant anyway. I used to work for one of their other newspapers in ancient times, long before Hearst owned it.
