people here seemed not to like him before his tweets about hamilton. can someone give me the background on this guy and why we don't like him or why he does not like us. just because his stabs at hamilton seemed unnecessary.

I thought Jordan Hamilton was a gunner. Brother Daniel likes to shoot it even more. UConn commit talented, needs to make better decisions.

tweet one

Daniel Hamilton has never seen a shot he did not like.

tweet 2

i know maybe "hating" is a strong word but why tweet stuff like this out negatively about a top recruit then praise everyone else in your next bunch of tweets

Hard to really say if you didn't watch Hamilton in the same game.

here's the part on Hamilton, Oubre and Malik-Abu also named in the top 10.

DANIEL HAMILTON, 6-6 SG, Los Angeles (CA) St. John Bosco
The younger brother of Denver Nuggets guard Jordan Hamilton, Daniel Hamilton is headed to UConn in 2014. He impressed scouts with his length, athleticism and basketball IQ. Playing for the eventual champion USA West, he went for 17 points and five rebounds in a win over USA East.
NBA Scout’s Take: “Sees the floor, is a good passer. He can bring the ball up the floor. He has very good size. He can play every part of the game. He’s very unselfish and he’s very, very good all-around player. Great upside.”

You have toughen up. Maybe it's true that he's a gunner. So what? That's why Ollie gets the big bucks, to get the players to buy in and produce in his system. My takeaway is that the guy calls Hamilton "talented".

I've seen a few different people lately say that shot selection is Hamilton's biggest weakness. Interesting that others have described him as unselfish and a good passer.

Someone else already said this in another thread, but if Daniel turns out like his older brother that's fine with me. Jordan averaged 19 and 8 as a sophomore and shot a more than respectable 44%.

I hate to use the word troll when describing the guy, but since I started following him in August 2011, I can't remember a single positive thing he's said about UConn.

Unfollowing and ignoring him is probably the best option. Some people thrive on riling others up; he seems like that type.

I unfollowed him quite some time ago. The UConn thing aside, the info he provides is mediocre at best, he's not a great talent evaluator, ego through the roof with no discernable skills to back it up....

... hmm now that I am typing this its rather clear why he was a shoe-in for ESPN :)

Controversy gets folks to go on to Goodman's blogs. He knows if he bashes something UConn he'll get a ton of hits. Thats how he gets
paid. Best to ignore him.

Jeff Goodman, Dan Wetzel, Dana O'Neill, Pat Forde and Gregg Doyel are flat out UConn-haters. They can all suck a big fat d * ck!

I'm pretty sure the issue is that Goodman didn't like the way he was treated by Calhoun and that bias shapes everything he ever writes about UConn. He actually used to like them before his issues with Calhoun.

I know we all love JC, but warm, fuzzy, and media friendly he was not. Ollie is a different mold. I'd be shocked if he didn't win over writers, etc. he runs in to, just like all the families and recruits he's clearly done wonders with so far...

Goodman is just an unpleasant human being.

It's not a UConn-specific condition.

FWIW, some guy named Joel Francisco agrees with Goodman. From his Insider piece on ESPN:

Last season UConn commit Daniel Hamilton (Bellflower, Calif./St. John Bosco) exhibited his all-around game, specifically his passing prowess. His versatile game made him one of the more attractive wings in the country. However, this summer Hamilton has become too one-dimensional, looking to score on every possession.

blah blah blah. Top 20 kid- 17 years old- not going to be perfect every game. We are going to love this kid.

Not an Insider, but quite possible that he just spoke to Goodman about various prospects. These guys aren't everywhere.

But even if there's some truth to it, he's a guy who already has his school picked and isn't playing for a scholarship or to get anyone's attention. He might have been asked by his AAU coach - or even by Ollie - to try to be a more assertive scorer this summer.

no need to follow anybody but the-boneyard
