Incredible that some recruits may avoid UConn because they fear they would not have the opportunity to be THE STAR on the team, but yet the only 3 players with 3 or more 40-plus point games are UConn alums...

Stewie had 30 at halftime. I think about 28 of them came in about 10-12 minutes of playing time. She was, as they say, en fuego!

That is a great stat line for sure. Here shooting yesterday was spot on and she make a few tough shots too. The one stat missing though that I thought was also impressive was only 1 turnover for the game. She really is a great player.

Stewie is a making scoring look easy. She has that shooters touch on dang near all of her shots.

I watched most of the game yesterday. Stewie was clearly “in the zone” shooting the ball. There was one turnaround baseline jumper from about 10’ that she took in the 4th qtr that miraculously came up short. While it was not an easy shot, I was shocked that Stewie missed anything at that point in the game. The next time down the court, order returned to the universe as Stewie splashed yet another 3.

It's been said many times that the UConn coaching staff does a great job for 4 years, preparing players for whatever career they choose. With Stewie in Diana and Maya's company here, that's pretty evident. And add Renee, Swin, Turner, Tuck, Asjha (among others), in WNBA/NBA management roles, Berube, Ralph, Williams (others) coaching, I'd say the UConn prep is highly regarded.

I didn’t start the thread to post about Stewie’s 42 point outburst - it’s the fact she’s the very first WNBA player to have three 40 point games in one season. Only three players have had three 40 point games in their career - Stewie, Maya, and Diana (who has four). These are spectacular, otherworldly type performances
