love JC but the man is awful with numbers, he called the 2011 final four game with Kentucky a high scoring game in the 70s that UConn won by 4...the score was 56-55

Not high scoring, but didn't Kentucky hit a 3 at the buzzer?

JC was already celebrating.

Yea he mentioned the 3 at the buzzer but still got the difference wrong, game was over after Bazz hit the free throws to put the lead at 4.

Ha, yeah, Calhoun does seem to have a problem with numbers. I read this the other day from Borges' blog before we played Louisville:

Still, would it be somewhat of a coaching breakthrough for Ollie to beat Pitino tonight? I think so. Jim Calhoun doesn't necessarily agree.

“No, in all honesty," said Calhoun, who's had a long history of matching wits with Pitino over the years. "My last four out of five trips against (Bob) Knight, I beat Knight. First time I ever faced him was very significant, because I’d known him, a couple of years older than me. He had been a hero. It was amazing for me … Bob Knight. But after a while …”

(It should be noted that Calhoun faced Knight three times in his career, beating him twice. But Calhoun has never been great with math).

JC has never let facts get in the way of a good story.

Funny thing is he probably would have said the exact same thing 5 minutes after the game. He's hilarious with these things. Not one of his stronger points. So bad it's endearing at this stage.
