I see in the Courant that WTIC 1080 is airing the St. Joseph's game tonight at 7:30.
This has to be only for his first game...right?

I still can’t believe WTIC is doing this and no I think they are doing it all season.

The only way this broadcast would be interesting is if the audio feed came directly from a mic on JC.
With Calhoun in a small facility, it basically will.

I am curious and would definitely be tuning in if I didn't have to work. There is something surreal about this, kind of like Rollie Massimino going from Villanova to coach at NAIA Northwood and then Kaiser. I'm thinking there must be something special about getting to see a HOF coach coming out of retirement to coach again, to work his craft and engage in his passion, but this time at a small Division III college without all of the big fanfare and media coverage. Sounds like the stuff of movies. Of course, among Division III basketball programs, I expect St. Joseph's will get the most media coverage in the nation.

Calhoun-coached DIII school gets radio deal in Hartford

>>The University of Saint Joseph, the tiny DIII school in Connecticut that hired Hall of Famer Jim Calhoun to coach its new men's basketball team, has announced a deal that will have its home games broadcast on a 50,000-watt Hartford radio station.<<

I'll be there. My wife is faculty at USJ and got tix for us and our daughter.

I'm not going there to see Duke vs. Kentucky, I'm going for nostalgia's sake.
Love to hear your thoughts afterward.

Please have someone take video when you go. I picture you in the rat costume giving GM crap until security hauls you away. It will be BY legend, surpassing even Big E's MSG performance.

Quite frankly, I would be terrified that JC would come at me, and that he would kick the ever living crap out of me because I would be constitutionally incapable of fighting him.

What would St. Joes do against U Hartford or Central? Blowout?

You'd have to go into the rope-a-dope and hope his arms tire. But, quite frankly, I don't think he'd need to fight. He'd just give you the death stare and point at the door and it would be over. ;)
