Ross gets too much shade from some Boneyarders.

Regardless of what you think he's contributed so far in his career, he's got the backing of the coaching staff. That's better than Boneyard approval I think.

And he's a great kid too. I'll be rooting for him to show what he's got.

Eliminates one spot needed from the portal. The Ross/Furphy battle preseason to get that bench forward spot is going to be a lot of fun to watch
I will bet any amount of money Ross will get more playing time than Furphy and another bet that Furphy won’t play lol.

Very happy to get Ross back!

Was a little nervous as our offseason started, seemed very much up in the air as to how many guys would return. Fast forward to now and we’ve got four experienced upperclassmen returning, a big guard transfer, plus the freshman class. Hope everyone else enjoyed our down year, because I have a feeling we’re about to climb right back to the top again

I was in that camp for awhile about Furphy but at this point it's impossible to ignore that every report from the staff says he's going to be an immediate impact guy. I would guess it ends up at 5-10 for Furphy and Ross is not getting that many minutes

As well as Sam V. I’m with you on this - I think Furphy ends up better player by end of year.

Ross got 4.4 minutes as a freshman and 11.4 this past season. I don't think he's returning to just be a practice player.

Like I said I’m willing to do any wagers.

The staff playing a low ranked freshman (no matter what reports say) and not play the junior they spent a year talking about would be completely off pattern.

Hurley does seniority. Ross is going to play and most likely start if we don’t add someone from the portal. And we’ll all end up happy for it.

I’d be shocked if Furphy didn’t get the same minutes as Abraham and a freshman Jayden Ross.

And it has nothing to do with how good I think he is or isn’t and everything to do with that he’s a freshman.

I'm sure Dan Hurley had a very frank conversation with him. He must be a good one for the locker room. Glad he chose to come back

Can’t Furphy play some PG? He would have the size and passing ability to play as a Big PG.

I'll admit that I'm probably over-correcting and Ross plays, I just don't see an 11 man rotation happening and don't see anyone else being forced out of the rotation before him.

But there is literally 0 chance of Ross starting, that is crazy

Solid bench guy with potential to bust out. Furphy is going to push the envelop on PT. Great problem for Hurley to have.
As easy as he let the freshmen go into the portal, it really makes me wonder how much of an emotional decision maker he can be, as he seems glued to this sophomore group. Just throwing it out there, but might he be attached to anything connected with the NC teams?

I’m skeptical he develops enough offensive skill this offseason to compete for minutes that way but he has a unique defensive upside amongst the bench guys. They clearly have to work on some of his technique and decision making but I don’t have to squint that hard to see him becoming a defensive stopper and carving out a role that way.

But yes, barring a truly insane level of development, the idea of him starting is a bit crazy.

Yeah that's my holdup, I'm just not sure what role he's able to carve out. If he's able to get a passable 3 point shot and fix his defense that's a valuable bench piece. But I'm just not sure what the path to that is when he was statistically our worst offensive player and worst defensive player on the worst team we've had the last 5 seasons

Appreciate the loyalty from Ross and Stewart, up to them to play starting quality on a top 5 team if they want that role. Glad we brought in Mullins, one of these guys is hopefully up to being that great 5th starter we need.
