Hate to be the one to break it to you but since College Gameday started in 2005, Digger has picked every home team to win, unless Notre Dame is the road team. What he offers is the exact opposite of solid analysis. Bilas on the other hand offers top shelf analysis and always speaks his mind no matter what. Love him.

I'd take Digger over Hubert Davis though, can't listen to him break down players. Literally says a slightly different variation of the same thing every time. Not to mention his laugh.

Digger's analysis usually amounts to "Whoever scores the most points is gonna win the game. That's the bottom line."

"Team is on a mission" or "This is payback game!", guy is a clown, don't know how anyone could look forward to hearing his "analysis". I was hoping him and Fran would've engaged in a brawl after things got heated b/w the two of them and Digger would be sidelined for the rest of the year.

Bilas also picked UConn as his 4 seed or lower to make an Elite 8 run
How does that make ANY sense ? If UConn can get by what is largely believed to be the best team in the country in game #2, why on earth would their run end in the Elite Eight?!? They could be Kentucky but not Duke or some such nonsense ?!

If they do beat ISU and UK, I'm still worried about Wichita State, VCU, and Baylor.

But if they beat UK, I think they're in the Final Four.

The question was what 4 seed or lower has a shot at making it to the Elite Eight. Not what 4 seed has a shot at making it to the Elite 8 and losing. And he didn't just create the statement out of thin air implying UConn could beat Kentucky and the 4/5 seed but not Duke.

Diff. between Bilas and Gottlieb and JB doesn't criticize for criticism's sake. Gottlieb may be as knowledgeable, but he gives you the feeling he goes over the top on purpose to get a reaction like Bayless or Stephen A.
Going to back to a way earlier post in this thread, Lamb will have to be proactive for this team to make a run. That video of him v. Syracuse standing off to the side waving his arms in frustration because he was expecting a different play was unsettling. While he may have been right and Bazz/Boat were off script, JL has to 'readjust his route' to borrow football jargon,

How often do the results of a single elimination tournament make sense? Last year's VCU team followed up a win over Kansas (#1 seed) with a loss to Butler (#8 seed). You think if we were to beat Kentucky on Saturday that the tournament is over?

It seems like Bilas has always been a fan of UConn. Even when he is critical of them, he avoids going too far like Gottlieb tends to do on occasion.

Regarding Digger picking 'Cuse on Gameday, he does that at every stop. I think he has picked the home team at every single Gameday site, with the exception of one time...when he picked Notre Dame. Digger is an act. But he's funny in how ridiculous he is.

Ahh, the Boneyard way! The second Gottleib compliments us there will be a thread about how much people respect him b/c he's a straight shooter. A couple of years ago he wrote a very pro JC article and this place blew up with praise. Yesterday, he made an observation (correct, mind you) about how we don't defend the 3 well and should be careful about looking past ISU and there was a thread about how he's a . I love this place...
In all fairness, he is a ... and many people in that thread gave him credit for his comments being somewhat accurate.

says jeremy lamb needs to get the ball more then shabazz and they can go far... also said "do you think this team is not locked in with a possible chance to play kentucky with calhoun back? i would not want to be kentucky if they play uconn" of course i missed some more stuff but thats a good deal of what he said

Doesn't Bilas have it backwards? Doesn't Kentucky want to play UConn after losing twice in one season to the Huskies last year?

"I would not want to play UConn if I'm Kentucky, they're looking to take a swing at somebody" -Jay Bilas, Sportscenter

I hope AD and JL actually show some emotion and get fired up. Win, lose, whatever just friggin give it everything you got.

I'd love to see UConn in the E8 if only to whip Coach K's ass again.
