I said this in the other thread about SIU, but I have no problem with WKU doing this. The NCAA leaves them little choice.

Funny how for the rest of America the "program will be phased in over time and take full effect for the 2014-2015 season."

Now, if only he had gone pro. It wouldn't matter what his GPA was. If he signed with a pro basketball team in Zimbabwe, the school's aPR would be fine.

By the way, ever wonder why they decided to multiple the actual aPR score x 1.000. Could it be that the calculation is actually a % (points divided by possible points) and they didn't want to make it appear like teams were a certain % in compliance. For instance, Kentucky's aPR score could be 100% this year. How funky would that look like to the rest of the country?

And who could blame them? They don't want to suffer the same fate as the UConn program where they are punished for something partially out of their control.

Don't blame WKU, blame the NCAA.

Although if word got out Calhoun was stopping kids from transferring because they would hurt UConn's APR, I would feel pretty scummy about it. Shows you how broken the system really is.
