We're only at $3500 as of this morning. We really need to get this moving. Woukd like to be at $12-13 k by next Wednesday. Please, if you haven't donated yet, consider doing so. No donation is too small. To all you that have given, THANK YOU. Please continue to get word out!

My wife and I will be on Ray Dunnaway's pregame show on 1080 tomorrow at 9 am to promote it.

I have worn the #6 jersey to EVERY UCONN sporting event since I got it.
 
There's a need to raise $25,000---so 25 people need to donate $1,000-----or 50 can give $500. What about 100 at $250. Or 1,000 at $25. How about $1 from 25,000 Husky fans at the stadium. As my grandfather used to say "a lot of a little is a lot!" Let's get it done.
 
Maybe Randy Edsall can take a small slice of his 2 mil per year contract and help out.....any chance this can be directed his way somehow?

Already done, we reached out to Randy months ago and he has supported us all the way through. Say what you will about him, this was his greatest hour as our coach in my opinion and it is very important to him.
 
Lots of former players have been contacted by several people from the University. There's a big push on here.

One would think that 25k would not be a problem for the NFL guys to cover.

You're definitely right about that Art, and if that's what we need to do to get this done, I'll be all over it, but in my heart, this is a tribute from all of us and for all of us. I would rather have 2500 ten dollar donors than just a couple of large ones. But it would be nice to not have to worry about fundraising, lol. We'll get there. I have faith in Husky nation. #HuskyUp

I'm bumming the team couldn't even top my $25 minimum today. But $25 it is.

Thanks again Art for posting this. It really is great piece(despite Fowler's unfortunate screw up during the intro). It really captures all the facets of the story. To me, Randy's quote at the funeral expresses so well why this tribute needs to be done,

I left a correction comment on the AP story page: the article lists the fund-raising goal as $3,000, not $30,000.

Fundraising update. I don't hav firm numbers but we are definitely making good progress. Today was our best day so far but we need to keep up the momentum! We are reaching out to every media outlet we can and are getting very good publicity but we need more! Please reach out to your contacts, family, friends etc. And let them know about this. I'm hoping we really make a statement with this effort.

All.. I met Dan and his wife on Saturday during the Walk. Super nice people super dedicated to the cause. If you have the means and are so inclined, this is such a worthy cause. Even though we are all certifiable - and I mean that in the nicest way possible :) - the Yard has always come through whether it was the Fiesta Bowl, previous years' golf tournies or the funds raised for the Calhoun Cancer Center. The process to donate take two minutes. Thanks...#huskyup

Spread the word, new push for the tribute, courtesy of a friend's idea; 6 for 6 . If we can get every season ticket holder to give $6, we raise over 120k and really make a statement! With that we not only pay for the tribute easily, we give over $100k to the endowed scholarship in Jasper's name. Every time a player receives the Jasper Howard Scholarship his name lives on. What an incredible statement that would make. I would love to say when this is all said and done that over 20 thousand people contributed to the fund. I've introduced it on Twitter so please consider tweeting it out with #6for6
 
In order to get to all season ticket holders, you're going to need the list from the Athletic Department.
You should ask them to create a mass marketing email for you. It will take them like 30 minutes

Added some $$$ to the bucket. Its taken too long to get this going so hope we can all help drive it to completion.
 
The 6 for 6 does sound pretty great. Some other ideas for you- Consider going tailgate to tailgate on Saturday with some collection buckets and i'm sure you'll raise a decent amount from the casual fan- especially when they have a few brews in them. With Uconn also being on board perhaps they can allow a collection at each entrance gate as well.

Amazing with all the players in the NFL that it is taking this long. Sorry but it's disappointing.
 
Made my $ today, I am nor sure the best place is under the scoreboard. EVERYPLAYER each game needs to high five Jasper for his inspiration and it should be a tradition

We originally wanted it down where the players come out up near the student section but the statue weighs too much for that end structurally. The locker rooms are directly below. Also in our talks with the 2009 team, and especially Kashif Moore, they wanted it in a place the fans could interact with it. As they said, the players have their tribute in the Burton, this is to be for all of Husky Nation. Finally, when you stand on the spot, it is awe inspiring. The location makes it really part of the stadium, a real monument looking down on all of us, visible from the field and 90% of the seats in the Rent.

We have been in contact with all of them and have been coordinating with them and the rest of the 2009 team.Because of game preparation at the end of last week for them, they were more difficult to get ahold of. They are all on board and have been talking back and forth and will come through for their brother.

We're considering all these options. This will be done!!
 
Are there any renderings of the memorial statue yet? Really excited about this!
