I think the death spiral began with the Houston contract. Zeke took a train wreck, poured gasoline on it, lit it, and fanned it. Donnie Walsh started to repair some of the damage, but then of course Dolan got rid of him, apparently because he was doing too good of a job and saying things that made sense, like "Carmelo is not what we need..."

Hey I'm on record of agreeing that Dolan is a joke for an owner. The Houston contract crippled the club for years and Thomas drove one of the NBA's storied and monetarily fruitful franchise into the ground. Saying that they've been a joke 10+ years is stupid considering where they were a few years earlier during that period.

Ok, so the 2011 UConn Men's team were lucky to win the championship as well then. Teams get hot. Knicks weren't the most talented team that year, but they still beat a great Miami team and went on an amazing streak.

If anything that 99 season was something of a dream season for Knick fans.
