Our style of play certainly transfers better to March. Our shooting the past week has gone cold but I expect we’ll break out of this little slump and be fine when it matters most. We don’t need Newton and Hawkins going off every game, but we need at least one of them to show up every game. When we get less than 15-20 pts from them combined we’re in trouble. I also think our team is trying to figure out the intensity of our defense. Early in the season (out of conference) our defensive intensity was a 9 or 10. Once BE play started we were clearly sent a signal that we can’t play our style of defense in the “physical big east”. Against Marquette it seemed like we were trying a bit harder not to foul but then lost our defensive edge. Marquette also hit some circus shots which didn’t help. The season wouldn’t be any fun if we didn’t have both ups and downs. You need to take some losses to grow as a team. I expect PC to finish somewhere 5-8 in the final standings, they’re not that good.
