This gym is weak though. Crowd is okay but the camera work and court make it feel like an old school UConn-Tulsa rumble. What on odd time when Tulsa was a conference opponent.
Not only that, but they owned us at that place

Zona up 9 on the road here with Peat doing zilch. Burries and Bradley are a stud backcourt, can both create. Maybe we are watching a different game, but AZ is good, tough and balanced. And yes they’re big. They defend.

BYU has nothing after the big 3.
Burries looks pretty good, eh? Remember early in the season you wanted to write him off as a disappointing highly ranked freshman? 🤣

Watch out, he’s gonna play revisionist history again

Just like he never really liked Michigan. It’s ALWAYS been Arizona

Oh I can search on here and find our back and forth. I told him it was too early to count Burries as disappointing. But you know how he is with the knee jerk reaction takes.

Uhhhh, I did the exact opposite. I said they could only get better with the season as an underperforming Burries was highly rated and was only going to get better, along with the other freshmen on the team. Get your facts straight.

Unless AJD goes off I don't think BYU has enough to compete with the top teams in the B12, they've played a relatively soft league schedule to date outside of Texas Tech and they got handled in that one

No, no, no. You were saying Burries has been disappointing and I'm pretty sure you were asking whether Mullins would be more Burries or Peat (who at that point was killing it). And then I said it was way too early to write Burries off as disappointing. And you never loved Michigan, did you? 😀

No, no. I said Burries was higher rated than Mullins and had a lot of upside, and AZ had a lot of room to get even better. The whole conversation was around AZ having a high ceiling because 3 of their best players were freshmen.

BYU shot selection is not good. And they can’t hit much.

AJD shoots an elbow J. Watches it miss and stands there as the play continues around him. Oof.

BYU also isn’t serious.

It’s a Dybantsa shot every time down the floor
It's their only matchup advantage on the floor. AZ is big and defends. Wright and Saunders are smothered. AZ is a matchup nightmare for BYU. I generally can't see BYU making any noise either as they're three players, two of which can be defended.

Quality of this game in 2 minutes is night and day next to that last one. Burries has come a long way since we played them.

Ville stinks. They are a one and done type NCAA team. They have zero inside presence.
Agree...Louisville is not good

You never said anything other than Michigan Michigan Michigan until they lost. You know we can all just go back and look right???

BYU has no chance of AJD can't make his open looks. Zo a is outplaying BYU big time so far. Zona shreds that full court pressure. Hopefully BYU has a comeback in them.

Jaden Bradley might be my favorite player to watch this season. I'm not sure I've seen him make a single bad play the entire season.
He is smooth - and his pullup J is silk. Him and Burries compliment each other nicely.

.-.
AZ toughest test to date was a 60% UConn. The rest of the country isn’t as good as advertised imo. A lot of inflated records.

They're a different team at this point - I'd throw that game out the window at this juncture. I think it means absolutely nothing. Player for player on a neutral court today:

Bradley or Silas
Burries or Solo
Ivan K or Mullins
Peat or AK
Krivas or Tarris

AZ is a lot bigger.

Zona is good, really good. Them being #1 is resembling UMass being #1 in 1996 when UConn was #2 waiting for a loss by UMass that never came.

It would be nice if UConn could get the #1 ranking, and I know the players value it, but I am more concerned with them just elevating their level of play much higher than it has been the last few games.

Later Edit with 1:11 left: Arizona will hold onto the #1 ranking. UConn just has to take care of business against PC and Creighton and if they do we can consider this a great week.

Noticed that too. Big turn off for me. I realize he's super talented but not the type of behavior I'd ever want to see from a player on my team.

BYU displays a ton of lack of discipline on both ends of the court. Constant defensive breakdowns.

Neither team runs great sets, but Zona definitely has a lot of talented players.
