Wagler gonna have the best performance by a freshman this year. 12-15 fg and 9-11 from 3 SO FAR
This is nuts - he's scoring 2/3 of their points. Not only a freshman, best pefromance period. Against a top ten team to boot.

.-.
This Purdue game is a good one.

Purdue feels like an Elite 8 team at best.

This Illinois team is missing their PG.

This Wagler performance considering the circumstances is the best by any player, let alone freshman, this year
Announcers said it's first time any opponent has scored 40+ @Mackey, which is hard to believe.

Illinois raining 3s in crunch time - 4 in row.
I don't think Wagler did much at all when we played them - bit of a different team now. That's a high ceiling team once they get Boswell back. Wagler looks 12 YO.

Illini were missing open threes until they weren't. That 13 point Huskies win over them is aging like fine wine.

It's pretty crazy Purdue never showed any ball pressure all game considering Illini have no point guard.

College hoops is incredible this season.

.-.
Illinois steals one at Mackey!

Down 5 with 5 minutes left, then up 5 with 1 minute left

Braden Smith hit a 3 and then 2 FTs, but Keaton Wagler matched him with a floater and 2 FTs himself to put it away

Have a day Keaton. 46 for the freshman.

46 points for a freshman at Purdue and on that kind of shooting is obscene.
Boswell, Wagler & the three Vic's are going to be interesting to watch in March. That team has some serious matchup advantages. That could be closer to a top 5 team at that point in the year.

I don't know what it is about Purdue, I enjoy when they lose.

Feels like the short list of contenders right now are:

Arizona
Michigan
Duke
UConn
Iowa St
Houston
Florida
BYU (big 3)
Texas Tech (big 3)
Illinois

I'm not ready to put Nebraska in there, don't think Gonzaga has the good and don't think Purdue has enough.

Maybe Kansas if DP is actually playing (he's not again)

Smith is nice, but he's small and unathletic. Cluff is a big stooge and KR and Loyer have been busts this year.

Illini can beat anyone, it's great having that 13 point win over them in our pocket.

Maryland is shockingly bad this season. I guess it's a good spot for Darius Adams because he plays so much but his bad habits and terrible shooting are exposed.

For me it's their fanbase, the way they conduct themselves on social media you would think they have multiple titles. Edey outscoring Clingan in the title game was enough for them to claim a national championship.

I think they're bottom 5 in the P4 based on what I've seen.

Yeah, it's a tough call. Get all the run you want exposing your bad habits, or go somewhere that you'll truly get developed with less minutes. Instant reward versus being realistic around your potential on the short/long term. The kid was never going to be a OAD, so you'd think going to a program that develops him is the right move. I suppose that's the luxury of the portal.

Auburn laying some woopass at Florida is surprising.

You'd think you would have learned by now....

Liam McNeeley @Creighton
Was actually thinking about that game. McNeeley was unconscious, but this Wagler game was another level. The efficiency was ridiculous. I'm not sure those numbers are not at some all time level. 9-11 from three is other worldly.

Wagler - 13-17, 9-11 & 46 points
Flemming - 15-26 & 42 points
McNeeley - 12-22, 5-10 38 points

As we speak, AJD has 19 in the first half against Utah.

Purdue also is just miles better than that Creighton team and Illinois was missing their other primary ballhander(and another bucket getter) Boswell, putting more responsibility on Wagler.

It's hard to believe cuse and pitt were a couple of the toughest teams in the late Great Big East. shells of their former selves. notre dame was competitive and is now losing to the lowest of the low, bcu. those programs are now complete
