There is an art to how you pay players, not disimilar to the pros. You pay the wrong guy, they can get fat and happy quick. When you set a precedent of a 22mm payroll, you're generally setting one where everyone is there for a payday and not the program. Pope got two frosh last year that should be returning, but none in this cycle so far.

With under 2 minutes left, Storr makes a hero ball drive into 3 guys and travels, then a minute later attempts an NBA 3 down 1, followed by screwing up the inbounds play. That is the AJ Storr I remember.

I think you start by not signing projected NBA lottery picks. They are always going to have one eye on the draft and many won't play if they have a hangnail.

Depends on the kid - clearly Boozer and AJD are working out just fine. And I though AJD was going to be a me first kinda kid. He's turned out to be a great team player. DP is another story, M Brown similar. These kids are treated like glass as it comes to injury and unreliable.

I tend to like how Hurley does it - go grab the right McD AA. That's usually not a top 5 kinda kid.

Creighton fans on the BoneYard stated McDermott wanted Pop Isaacs to play when he was medically cleared last year. But the story was Isaacs and his family/handlers held out with the purpose of being fully healthy for this year to maximize earnings.
McDermott was not happy and publicly took the high road and said Isaacs is choosing to transfer, but privately he told Isaacs he was not welcomed back. I am certain these contracts will have much more specific clauses for use cases like this.

I think Pope basically had Caleb Wilson locked up. And for a while, it was said Mullins was a heavy lean to UK. But Pope took Jasper from in state instead.

DP is an odd case and I have no comment on his in and out stuff but Mikel Brown does seem to be really injured, no?

Yes, back, but I do wonder how severe some of these injuries are and how much of a rush these kids are to get back.

He also had Acadien Lewis locked up and then Lewis pulled out. He took both Jasper and Malachi Moreno instate. He hasn't been able to get anyone out of state is the issue.

Louisville also has no signed HS kids.

I'm watching it also. The Texas center has the most performative all over body spasms imaginable to try to get foul calls.

They supposedly have some issue with how recruits are able to be paid through some third party company JMI. How much of this is true or hurting Pope I don’t know just read some stuff on it
 
Does AZ/ASU being tied early seem hopeful for ASU to anyone who’s watching? I’m in bed but for some reason latched onto the idea of a big Bobby Hurley upset.
 
Only question in the Texas-Vanderbilt game is if the fans rush the court. North Carolina -Stanford in a tight one. I don't know who Ebuka Okorie is but North Carolina cannot stop him as he already has 33 points.

I don't think we're dropping more than 1 or 2 in the Big East if we stay healthy but we can drop a third and still have a 1 seed locked up when all is said and done.
 
Watching ASU vs Arizona, color commentator just mentioned UConn’s only loss being to Arizona and that we were down Reed an Mullins.

I think we’ve done a good job of ensuring that’s the narrative. I listen to a lot of podcasts, pundits, etc. (like most here, I imagine), and that loss never gets brought up without our injuries being mentioned. Would be easy to just see one team beat the other and move on.

I noticed that, too. I am glad that Arizona loss never gets mentioned without the qualifier that Reed Jr. and Mullins did not play. Congratulations to Arizona for the win and they deserve to be ranked #1 for now.
 
UNC blew that game but Stanford is pretty good this year

Cal giving Duke everything they can handle

Michigan only up 8 at Washington as well. It's been between 4-8.

TCU up 9 on BYU.

Hannes Steinbach played with Riebe for the German national team. He was impressive there and cool to see him put up 18/11 for the west coast Huskies. The obvious play here is to portal him for next year and put up the Berlin Wall in Storrs.

Side note: the human bowling ball himself, Roman Siulepa (Australia), is going for 9pts/4reb for Pitt. .7 assist a game. Never change, Roman.
 
Looking forward to seeing Dybantsa vs the upper echelon of the Big12, he's showing up every game
