Sooo happy for her!!! Baby steps... she will be surrounded by so much love and support. Vol Nation loves this young woman, and she will be able to put the pieces of her life back together and go on to pursue her dreams, whatever they may be, including perhaps, the basketball career that was so brutally taken from her.

I am certainly no mental health professional, but I would think that
basketball and getting re-associated with a team culture would be
very beneficial for her.

Great news for her and wish her all success. But as she is a highly regarded 2/3, where would Wilson play?

Really glad to hear this!

I bet that by next fall, she will be back in the swing of things and on the basketball team-- where she should have been in the first place.

Here's hoping that everything works out well for her going forward. She's been through h*ll and deserves the best.

I think playing Basketball will be very good for her. She is a pretty good player. It would also strengthen next years team.

It would be great if TN honors the scholarship offer...don't know if that would use up eligibility even if she didn't play this year. It just would be nice.

Great news and I hope for the best for her.Hopefully, she will continue her basketball journey and use it as therapy.I also hope someone from this or another board will keep us informed as to what punishment the monster that did this to her gets for his crime.

I am not really in the know, but here is what I think happens. She will be on scholarship starting next semester. She will rehab through the summer. If she is physically able to play bb again, she will play as a frosh in 2014. If not and determines she will not be able to play again, UT will give her a medical redshirt, which would free up her scholly.

Personally, I think Storrs would be better for her mental health than Knoxville. :) I'm kidding!

Seriously, I am thrilled to hear this. It's a step in getting away from a horrific situation and back to normalcy. I hope Jannah feels up to playing for UT and does very well there. Everyone should be a Jannah fan.

I feel more than a little uneasy about this latest news, particularly the over-the-top announcement on the LV website: http://www.utsports.com/sports/w-baskbl/

So much for a quiet and soft landing. This young woman has been through a lot, and not that long ago. There's typically a lot of work and healing to recover from the trauma of domestic violence and it doesn't happen overnight. If she and her family believe it's better to do that away from her home and family that's their decision and hopefully she'll get the help she needs at Tennessee.

Jannah and her dad went to campus and met with coaches. I don't know what was said in that meeting, I do know she made a statement. "Tennessee has always been in my corner no matter what the circumstances may be," Tucker said. "Starting in the spring semester, I will be attending the University of Tennessee. I am so excited to officially be a Lady Vol, because they truly represent what family is all about. I am so appreciative for all the support I've gotten from everyone that is a part of UT, and I am extremely confident that UT is the best place for me to be." I agree she has been though a lot. I think she needs support from family, friends and team. She did commit and signed a LOI.

Not being totally serious. I've constantly listened to opponents' fans say that so-snd-so will do nothing but sit on the bench for a couple of years at UConn because of who is ahead of them. Of course there is always PT for those recruits on their squads. LOL Right now Tenn has Nared, Burdick & Dunbar who are primarily 3's. Add Tucker and it's a pile-up at one position.

But it's very nice to see her moving past her trouble.
